Angry Alan, by multi-award winning playwright Penelope Skinner, has won a prestigious Scotsman Fringe First Award. Widely regarded as one of the UK's most significant feminist playwrights, Skinner's darkly comic and provocative new play explores masculinity in crisis.

Penelope Skinner's mysterious new play, Meek, opens at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 4 – 8 September following its première at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August. A haunting vision of ruthless state control, tense friendships and one woman's determination not to be broken, Meek is a tale which reflects on our own fraught times.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will begin previews for a limited eight-week run of the Abbey Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre's acclaimed production of CYPRUS AVENUE on Saturday, June 2. The new play, written by David Ireland and directed by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, features Stephen Rea, who last performed at The Public in 2008 in Sam Shepard's Kicking a Dead Horse. The run at The Public follows encore engagements at Dublin's Peacock Stage at the Abbey Theatre (April 30-May 19) and the MAC in Belfast (May 23-26). CYPRUS AVENUE will run through Sunday, July 29 in The Public's LuEsther Hall, with an official press opening on Monday, June 25.

With the original run and four-week extension completely sold out, Steep Theatre Company is adding three more performances of Simon Stephens' Birdland on June 10, 14, and 15. With the ensemble's next production (Penelope Skinner's Linda directed by Robin Witt) right around the corner, June 15 will be the last chance to catch this runaway hit at Steep.

Tickets are now on sale for School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play which will begin previews at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) on Tuesday, October 16, with an official opening night set for Monday, October 22, 2018.
