Each year, the Tony Awards release a list of names of friends and colleagues in the Broadway community who have left us during the past year.

Theatre Ventures has just announced that 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis (BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY) will write a new play based on the Oscar®-winning motion picture DOG DAY AFTERNOON.  Warner Bros. Classic Stage Company presents William Shakespeare's HAMLET, starring acclaimed actor Peter Sarsgaard as Hamlet, and directed by Austin Pendleton. Previews for HAMLET began on March 27 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through May 10. The official press opening is tonight, April 15.

Actor Peter Sarsgaard recently spoke with The Guardian about his upcoming performance as Hamlet with Classic Stage Company. Scarsgaard admited he had never seen Hamlet until recently, and had had no desire to play the part, even when it was offered to him in the past. 'I almost actively didn't want to play it,' he said.
