Tonight before a crowd of 150 theatre makers and theatre lovers, theatreWashington announced the nominees for the 2015 Helen Hayes Awards. One of the country's most prestigious cultural honors, The Helen Hayes Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in professional theatre throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Following last night's highly anticipated first preview of HAMILTON at the Public, TodayTix hosted the exclusive afterparty at the Public's Library Bar. The party included the cast and creatives for Hamilton as well as special first preview guests including Pitch Perfect's Skylar Astin, Laura Osnes, Benj Pasek and Barrett Weed, among others. Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the New York Premiere of The Liquid Plain by Naomi Wallace, directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The production runs February 17 through March 29, 2015 with a March 8 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

The Public Theater presents the world premiere musical Hamilton, beginning previews tonight, January 20, in The Public's Newman Theater. Inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, Hamilton runs through Sunday, April 5 with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17.

FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, will perform at Detroit's Fisher Theatre on March 10 - 22, 2015. Tickets will go on sale Sunday, December 7 at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone at 1-800-982-2787, online at www.broadwayindetroit.com or www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Fisher Theatre box office starting on Monday, December 8.

Goodman Theatre, in collaboration with Chicago's various off-Loop theaters and Northwestern University, unveils partial programming in its spring 2015 citywide "August Wilson Celebration" -- an extensive retrospective of the late playwright's life, artistry and influence on American culture. The seven-week Celebration takes place in March and April 2015 on dual landmark occasions: the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright's birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.

The critically-lauded, dazzling new production of Side Show will be recorded for posterity on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 for the Lincoln Center Library was announced today. It was previously announced that Side Show will play its final performance on January 4th, 2014.
