On May 3, 2015, the Kennedy Center will open its doors for the 2015 Spring Gala: It Don't Mean A Thing...A Celebration of Swing. Renowned artists Audra McDonald, Paquito D'Rivera, Megan Hilty, John Clayton, Terence Blanchard, the Puppini Sisters, and Paul Taylor Dance Company will join for a festive evening in celebration of the Swing Era.
Charles Busch's one-act comedy, THE DIVINE SISTER, appearing at the Desert Rose Playhouse, in Rancho Mirage, is a divine parody of nun movies and a zany comedy. It is almost impossible to describe the over-the-top story, but the production is hilarious and well worth seeing.
Schimmel Center at Pace University presents TAKE Dance, the New York City-based contemporary dance troupe led by Artistic Director and Founder, Takehiro Ueyama, noted former Paul Taylor Dance Company company member. For the company's 10th anniversary season, TAKE Dance will be performing the World Premiere of the evening-length work, There and Here, with live music performed by award-winning Japanese musician, composer, and producer, Kato Hideki, who will compose the music in real time at each performance. American Repertory Ballet (ARB) Artistic Director Douglas Martin will premiere his new full-length ballet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, on February 26 and 27, 2015 at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ.
