Schimmel Center at Pace University presents TAKE Dance, the New York City-based contemporary dance troupe led by Artistic Director and Founder, Takehiro Ueyama, noted former Paul Taylor Dance Company company member. For the company's 10th anniversary season, TAKE Dance will be performing the World Premiere of the evening-length work, There and Here, with live music performed by award-winning Japanese musician, composer, and producer, Kato Hideki, who will compose the music in real time at each performance. Performances take place March 26 - 28 at Schimmel Center at Pace University (3 Spruce Street).

There and Here represents a new level of ambition for TAKE Dance's annual New York City Season, challenging choreographer Takehiro Ueyama to create his second-ever full-evening-length work. There and Here explores the theme of the process of life and the nature of the afterlife. Musician, composer, and sound artist Kato Hideki will perform his new work, Bardo (Tibetan for "intermediate state"). He sculpts the sounds dynamically by mixing and playing the electronic and acoustic instruments in real time, creating an environment that both exposes and supports the kinetic drama in the dance.

Joining Ueyama and Hideki for the company's 10th anniversary engagement is noted fashion designer César Alcocer as costume designer, set and lighting designer Lauren Parish, and several special guest performers who have been associated with TAKE Dance throughout its first successful decade of dance, including original company member Nana Tsuda, former Paul Taylor Dance Company dancers Amy Young and Orion Duckstein, and Miki Orihara of Martha Graham Dance Company.

In addition to the special guest performers, the cast of There and Here includes Artistic Director Takehiro Ueyama, Associate Director and founding company member Jill Echo, and current company members Brynt Beitman, John Eirich, Kile Hotchkiss, Gina Ianni and Marie Zvosec.

Ticket prices for TAKE Dance at Schimmel Center at Pace University are $29; student tickets are available for $10 with a valid ID. The performances will take place on Thursday, March 26; Friday, March 27; and Saturday, March 28, all at 7:30pm. Tickets can be purchased online at schimmel.pace.edu, by calling (866) 811-4111 or (212) 346-1715, or in person at Schimmel Center Box Office, open Monday-Friday from 1pm-6pm. Schimmel Center is located at 3 Spruce Street in downtown Manhattan.
