American Repertory Ballet Launches 2015-16 Season with Open Rehearsal and More

American Repertory Ballet, New Jersey's preeminent classical and contemporary ballet company, will perform throughout New Jersey - in Princeton, New Brunswick, Lawrenceville, Branchburg, Rahway, Manasquan, South Orange, and Trenton - and at the Joyce Theater in New York City from September 2015 through April 2016. The performance season will open tonight, September 24, at Rider University Bart Luedeke Center with an open rehearsal and State of the Art Address, celebrating 5 years of Artistic Director Douglas Martin's artistic leadership.

Southwark Playhouse's CASA VALENTINA to Host Stonewall Gala Night

The producers of Casa Valentina today announce a gala for Stonewall which campaigns for the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people across Britain. The gala will be on the evening of Thursday 24th September and will be hosted by Anthony Davis from Smooth Radio. After the performance, there will be a Q&A with Ayaz Manj and Peter Mercer from Stonewall along with the cast and producers. Casa Valentina is set in 1962 in the picturesque Catskills mountains of New York where a group of heterosexual men escape from the City to spend their weekend dressed as women. Included in the price of each ticket to the gala performance will be a donation to support the charitable works of Stonewall.

Juilliard Dance Receives 64th Annual Capezio Dance Award

 Juilliard Dance will receive the 64th Annual Capezio Dance Awardfrom the Capezio Ballet Makers Dance Foundation at a ceremony on Sunday,November 22, 2015 at 6pm at The Juilliard School in the Willson Theater.  Artistic Director Lawrence Rhodes will accept the award on behalf of the school. 

Eryc Taylor Dance Presents U.S. Premiere of THE EXHIBIT, 10/15

New York, NY (September 18, 2015), Eryc Taylor Dance will present the U.S. premiere of The Exhibit, a new immersive evening of dance featuring five contemporary dance works, running for six performances, October 15 – 18, 2015 at The Alchemical Theatre Laboratory, 104 W. 14th Street, The Exhibit features five works with multiple narratives, choreographed by Eryc Taylor in collaboration with company members. The pieces will be performed consecutively in one large performance space; the standing audience will be free to move about and follow the dancers to different areas of the room to witness the pieces from various perspectives.

Orchestra of St. Luke's Names New President & Executive Director

Orchestra of St. Luke's is pleased to announce the appointment of James Roe as its new President & Executive Director. Roe has served as President & CEO of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra since 2013. At OSL, he will guide the future direction of one of America's most distinguished orchestras and its home, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

CLOSER TO HEAVEN Returns to the Unicorn Theatre, Oct. 21

Closer to Heaven, the musical by Jonathan Harvey and Pet Shop Boys, will return to the Union Theatre following its sell-out run in April 2015, playing from Wednesday 21 October to Saturday 28 November 2015.

PUSH Dance Company Launches PUSHfest 2015 Today

New and recent works by PUSH Dance Company and leading mid-career and emerging dance artists from the Bay Area and beyond will be featured during PUSHfest 2015, presented by PUSH Dance Company, a San Francisco-based contemporary dance company, founded by artistic Director Raissa Simpson. PUSHfestis a mixed-genre dance festival that showcases the work of  mid-career and emerging choreographers alongside the PUSH Company at San Francisco's ODC Theater (3153 17th Street) on September 18-20, 2015. Program A will be performed today, September 18, at 8pm and Sunday, September 20, at 4pm. Program B will be performed on Saturday, September 19, at 8pm and Sunday, September 20, at 7pm. www.pushdance.org/festival.

American Repertory Ballet Releases Schedule of September 2015 Events

The Bach Choir of Bethlehem Sets 2015-16 Season

The Bach Choir of Bethlehem has announced its 2015/16 season, Bach At The Heart, which will culminate in the 109th Bethlehem Bach Festival in May 2016. In a milestone programming endeavor, The Bach Choir of Bethlehem will mount performances of four major choral works this season: in addition to the traditional performance of the B Minor Mass at the Bach Festival 2016, the Christmas Oratorio (Cantatas 1-3) will be performed in the Bach Choir's traditional Christmas concerts on December 12th & 13th,2015; the St. John Passion in its spring concert on March 20th,, and the Easter Oratorio at the Bach Festival on Friday evenings. The Bach Choir, Bach Festival Orchestra, and distinguished soloists perform under the direction of artistic director and conductor Greg Funfgeld, now in his 33rd season.

Martha Graham Dance Company to Return to Jacob's Pillow Through Season Finale, 8/30

The legendary Martha Graham Dance Company (MGDC) will kick off its 90th Anniversary year in a seven-show engagement at Jacob's Pillow's historic Ted Shawn Theatre, August 26-30. Celebrating the company's pioneering past and trail-blazing reputation, MGDC's program features a diverse set of works including Graham's dramatic classic Embattled Garden, the world premiere of AXE by eminent choreographer Mats Ek, the powerful Depak Ine by Nacho Duato, and Echo by Greek choreographer Adonis Foniadakis.

Director Luke Sheppard today announces the full company for Harvey Fierstein's Casa Valentina. Sheppard directs Tamsin Carroll (Rita), Ben Deery (Miranda), Charlie Hayes (Eleanor), Bruce Montague (Terry), Robert Morgan (Amy), Matt Rixon (Bessie), Ashley Robinson (Gloria), Gareth Snook (Charlotte) and Edward Wolstenholme (Valentina). The production opens on 16 September, with previews from 10 September, and runs until 10 October.
