Kathryn Posin Dance Co. to Re-Open Kaufman Concert Hall in February

Kathryn Posin Dance Company is honored to have been invited by the 92nd Street Y to be the company that re-opens the fabled 900-seat Kaufman Concert Hall, for years one of New York's major dance venues, re-opening after a long closure.  Performances will take place February 11 & 12, 2016 on the stage that has seen many early performances by the companies of Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, Alvin Ailey and, in 1967, the choreographic debut of Kathryn Posin.  The invitation is a result of the success of the KPCD's 2014 season at the 92nd Street Y's Buttenweiser Hall, 'Voices of Bulgaria and America,' which sold out and was live-streamed to 54 countries. 

Nathan Amzi Returning to IN THE HEIGHTS at King's Cross Theatre

Nathan Amzi will return to In The Heights for a limited two-week run, playing Piragua Guy from Monday 21 December 2015 to Sunday 3 January 2016. Nathan originated the role in the London production when it premiered at Southwark Playhouse in 2014. In The Heights recently extended its run at King's Cross Theatre for a second time, now booking for an additional 3 months until Sunday 10 April 2016.

Initially booking for a limited 4 week run, Tony Award-winning Broadway musical In The Heights has extended its run at King's Cross Theatre for a second time, now booking for an additional 3 months until Sunday 10 April 2016. In The Heights returns to London following a critically acclaimed sell-out UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse in 2014.  

San Francisco Performances Founder and President Announces Retirement

San Francisco, November 11, 2015 - Ruth A. Felt, founder and President of San Francisco Performances--one of the country's most respected performing arts presenting organizations--has announced that she will retire from the nonprofit she created and has led for 36 years in the fall of 2016. Ms. Felt, who is 76, makes this announcement at a time when San Francisco Performances is at a particularly strong place artistically, administratively and financially and with artists and programming details already in place for two upcoming seasons, according to Patrick McCabe, Chair of the Board of Trustees. Since 1980 San Francisco Performances annually has presented the world's leading artists in genres and series including vocal music, piano, chamber music, jazz, guitar, contemporary dance, young masters, virtuosi and special events. Hallmarks of the organization, considered a national leader in the field, include presentation of top-name performers in intimate venues including the Herbst Theatre, an award-winning education program, long-standing annual relationships with artists and artists-in-residence and support of in-depth, thematic programming that fosters artists and audiences to explore ideas and ideals behind the creative spirit. A gala benefit honoring Ms. Felt and San Francisco Performances is being planned for September 30, 2016, with details and artists to be announced. Today's award ceremony at the National Theatre Studio had Thelma Holt, the presenter, give the winner the cheque for £2000 to the Orange Tree Theatre for its series of collaborations, rediscoveries and new work such as the critically acclaimed Pomona.
