Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, National Medal of Honor for the Arts recipient and GRAMMY Award-nominee Allen Toussaint returns to Joe's Pub at The Public today, October 6 at noon to celebrate the release of SONGBOOK (Rounder Records) featuring twenty five of Toussaint's songs captured on CD and DVD and originally recorded at Joe's Pub in 2009.

On Friday, October 4, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, opened its 2013-2014 concert season at Carnegie Hall with special guest Chris Botti. Tonight, October 4, 2013, The New York Pops orchestra will launch its 31st Season at Carnegie Hall with An Evening with Chris Botti. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke will lead the orchestra in a highly-anticipated opening with America's largest-selling instrumental artist, trumpeter Chris Botti. The performance will include selections such as Chopin's 'Prelude in C Minor,' 'Emmanuel,' and 'When I Fall in Love' from his recent Grammy Award-winning album Impressions, as well as other popular favorites, at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

BRIC has announced programming for its inaugural season in BRIC Arts | Media House (BRIC House), the new, 40,000-square-foot multi-disciplinary facility the organization will open in the former Strand Theatre at 647 Fulton Street today, October 3.

Although his career spans four decades, Clint Holmes is in the midst of a significant breakthrough. Having spent the last 20 years as one of Vegas's most successful entertainers, he has, over the last two years, in his 60s, achieved tremendous acclaim with solo shows in New York at the legendary Cafe Carlyle. Reviewing Holmes' tribute to Paul Simon and Cole Porter last year at the Cafe, Stephen Holden wrote in The New York Times that Holmes merged 'the excitement of Las Vegas and the sophistication of Manhattan' and further described Holmes as 'a brainy showman.' Holmes' 2011 Cafe Carlyle debut, Remembering Bobby Short, was equally beloved. He shifts the focus to his own remarkable life story with Stop This Train, returning to the venue trough October 12. Curtains up! AIR TWYLA propels Pacific Northwest Ballet into its new season with a trio of works by its first artist-in-residence, renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp. The program includes the world premiere of Waiting at the Station with a commissioned score by New Orleans music legend Allen Toussaint.
