F. OFF to Debut at Edinburgh Fringe

F. Off comes to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer, inviting the audience to become judge and jury in a new production that sees the Facebook generation put the social network on trial, presented by the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain (NYT).

Underbelly Announces August Lineup

Today Underbelly announces the final 91 shows joining its Fringe programme this August. With a huge range of star names, challenging and intriguing topics and a host of great music this is set to be one of the most entertaining year's yet beneath George Square's udders and across Bristo Square, the Cowgate, Circus Hub and Central Hall.

National Youth Theatre Announces Summer/Autumn 2019 Season

The National Youth Theatre today announces its 2019 Summer and Autumn Season which will feature an extended 7th annual REP season of three plays in London, brand new commissions staged in five cities across the UK and festival appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe, Latitude and Bradford Literature Festival. This is the first time the majority of NYT's summer / autumn season productions will be staged outside of London. Three NYT members have also been appointed as paid Centre Stage Creatives and have also been commissioned to build local NYT networks and create new work in towns around the UK.

On Monday 26 November, The National Youth Theatre hosted its annual fundraising gala, this year to the theme 'Puttin' on the Blitz Kidz' at Cafe de Paris, and was attended by VIP guests, past alumni and current NYT performers. The event, featuring music and theatre performances, auctions and fundraising events significantly exceeded targets, raising more than £150,000 to support The National Youth Theatre's ongoing projects.

Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the National Youth Theatre, Paul Roseby, has today become an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and receives the prestigious Queen's award in recognition of his efforts and achievements at the National Youth Theatre.

Care Workers Offered Free Tickets To See James Fritz's THE FALL At Southwark Playhouse

Following a recent nationwide survey revealing fears around the ageing process, a new ticket initiative is today announced offering free tickets to care workers for Bruntwood Prize winner and Olivier Award nominee James Fritz's topical new play The Fall, which explores the prospect of aging in a country in the midst of a crisis of care. Carers will be given free tickets to the production through Carers UK, a charity supporting people caring unpaid for older and disabled people, and Southwark Carers. There will also be a Q&A panel to discuss the themes of the play on Thursday 10 May, with panellists including Neil Coyle, MP for Bermondsey & Old Southwark and Helena Herklots, Chief Executive of Carers UK. The production will run at Southwark Playhouse until 19 May. Tickets can be reserved by carers by emailing info@nyt.org.uk.

THE HOST, THE FALL and DNA Set for National Youth Theatre's Spring 2018 Programme

The UK's leading youth arts organisation, The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain (NYT) today announces a spring 2018 programme as the 2017 season draws to a close. Nessah Muthy's award-nominated The Host, which follows the life of a Syrian refugee in the UK, will return in February following its acclaimed run at The Yard Theatre.

National Youth Theatre REP Company's OTHELLO Begins at the Ambassadors Theatre

Following the success of four previous West End REP Seasons, the NYT Rep Company will return to the Ambassadors Theatre for a fifth year in September with a brand new female-led adaptation of Jekyll and Hyde exploring women's roles and rights in Victorian society, by Evan Placey who wrote their 2015 hit Consensual. The second REP show, which marks an exciting new collaboration, will see NYT present Frantic Assembly's award-winning modern-day Othello under the direction of Frantic's Associate Director Simon Pittman. Paul Roseby, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain (NYT) has today announced its new season of work. 2017 marks 50 years of the organisation commissioning new work for young people and in celebration 50 play readings are taking place in weird and wonderful locations across the UK today. Some notable writers who received early commissions from NYT, such as James Graham (This House, Finding Neverland), Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and The Cursed Child) and Zawe Ashton have plays being showcased.
