'Too Legit to Quit 4: Gender Bender Edition, a concert devoted to classic Broadway singing, is held May 31st at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today its additional selections for NYMF 2015. Acappella, Claudio Quest, HeadVoice, Held Momentarily, Moses Man, Napoleon, Real Men, a musical for guys and the women who put up with them; Songs for the Fallen, Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera and Wearing Black join the previously announced new musicals that will be presented at the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival from July 7, 2015 to July 27, 2015.

Adams (Far From Heaven, Parade), Michael Andrako (Fiddler on the Roof), Eileen Aurelia, Stella Boonshoft, A. J. Cedeno, Sarah Charles, Alma Cuervo (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Caberet), Michael Deleget (Goodspeed's The Most Happy Fella), Jazmin Gorsline (My Fair Lady), Jessica Kahkoska, Laura Kaldis, Paul Louis Lessard, Michael Pesce, Spencer Plachy (Romeo and Juliet, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), A. J. Shively (La Cage aux Folles), Tony-nominee Walter Willison (Two by Two, Pippin). The performances are set for church of St. Paul and St. Andrew on April 11-12 at 8:00pm, and April 13 at 7:00pm.

The ninth annual edition of Broadway Backwards, a one-night-only performance produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefiting BC/EFA and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York, took place last night. This year's special event featured the talents of Michael Berresse (Kiss Me, Kate; A Chorus Line), Tony winner Beth Leavel (Elf, The Drowsy Chaperone), Tony winner Debra Monk (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, TV's 'Girls'), Ken Page (Ain't Misbehavin', Cats), Tony winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), Tony nominee Andrew Rannells(The Book of Mormon, TV's 'Girls'), Tony nominee John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, TV's 'Johnny and the Sprites.'), and more This year's edition of Broadway Backwards (#bwaybackwards) was held at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W 45th Street, NYC), current home to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. Swedish Grammy-winning pop band Brainpool (Christoffer Lundquist, David Birde, Jens Jansson) are in New York City for a week-long development workshop of their rock opera JUNK, following two sold-out concerts of songs from the show (Pieces of JUNK) performed by a cast of Broadway performers at Joe's Pub earlier this year.

Fundamental Theater Project will present the upcoming staged reading of Supersoldier, a new rock musical with book, music and lyrics by Hair co-creator, Jim Rado. The reading is presented in collaboration with New York Theatre Barn, and will be directed by NYTB Artistic Director, Joe Barros. Ted Rado also serves as Co-Book Writer on the piece, and Steve Margoshes and Marteen Andruet join as Musical Directors.

This new, adult musical comedy about men is a madcap and hilarious romp through all the many stages of manhood, featuring 29 original songs all paying homage to all things male, lampooning such issues as fatherhood, mid-life crisis, dating, marriage, aging, and sex (or the lack of it), giving an inside glimpse of what it takes to be a man in a modern world shared with women, children, and parents.
