The dust has only recently settled on the last production of Hairspray at the Curve in Leicester but now this production is on the road across the UK. Based on the packed house at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham last night, it's proven itself to be a show that people will return to. It's just upsetting that this time around the show did not live up to my expectations.

Curve theatre, Leicester has announced its Christmas musical for 2015 will be a new production of Lionel Bart's masterpiece Oliver!. Opening on 2 December 2015, with previews from 27 November, the production also sees Paul Kerryson return as director.
Verity Rushworth Lands Lead Role in UK Tour of BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S

Verity Rushworth will play the role of Holly Golightly on the UK Tour of Breakfast at Tiffany's from 2 May to 11 June 2016, appearing at His Majesty's Aberdeen, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Theatre Royal Bath, Glasgow Theatre Royal, King's Theatre Edinburgh and Wycombe Swan. She will be sharing the role with Pixie Lott, whose dates have been previously announced. Truman Capote's classic novella has been adapted for the stage by Pulitzer Prize-winning Finalist and Tony and Olivier Award-winning playwright Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain), and contains memorable songs from the era as well as original music by Grant Olding (One Man, Two Guvnors).

Oklahoma!, the groundbreaking Rodgers and Hammerstein musical classic that ushered in the golden age of musical theatre, will be presented by Young People's Theatre Workshop (YPTW) May 22-31 at Players Club of Swarthmore, 614 Fairview Rd., Swarthmore. The Sound of Music has seen several UK tours and productions over recent years and the Curve has decided to produce yet another version of the show for its Christmas production this year. Some say it's been done to death and Bill Kenwright has just announced another tour featuring Danielle Hope as Maria but the Curve somehow always manages to find something fresh. Artistic Director Paul Kerryson leaves the Curve on a massive directorial high.

A new production of the international smash hit Hairspray will embark on a major UK tour in 2015/16. This big, bold and beautiful musical comedy will begin its UK tour at Leicester's Curve theatre on 9 September 2015 and will then tour to 29 venues across the UK, including a Christmas residency at Birmingham Alexandra Theatre in December 2015.

Miss Havisham's Expectations and Sikes & Nancy will play Trafalgar Studios (Studio 2), 14 Whitehall, London SW1A 2DY from Tuesday 9th December 2014 to Saturday 3rd January 2015. Press Night: Friday 12th December, 7pm. These two London premieres, performed on the same evening at Trafalgar Studios, with Linda Marlowe (about to guest star in EastEnders) and James Swanton, are 'Dickens with a Difference'.
Nikolai Foster Appointed Artistic Director At The Curve!

Curve today announces the appointment of Nikolai Foster as the company's new Artistic Director. Foster takes up the position in January 2015, succeeding Paul Kerryson who steps down as Artistic Director at the end of this year, after 22 years in post.
