The Daily Mail reports that Laura Pitt-Pulford and Michael French are set to star as 'Maria' and 'Captain Von Trapp' in Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by Paul Kerryson at the Leicester Curve. The musical runs November 28, 2014 through January 17, 2015.

Also in the cast are previously announced star Lucy Schaufer (as Mother Abbess), with Emma Clifford and Jack Wilcox. More actors to be announced.

The creative team features choreographer Drew McOnie and musical director Ben Atkinson, with lighting design by Philip Gladwell.

The Curve's website describes the show: "Originally a hit Broadway and West End musical, then followed by the beloved 1965 movie version, The Sound of Music remains one of the most popular musicals of all time. Set against the idyllic landscape of the Austrian Alps, this heart-warming tale based on a true story follows spirited young nun Maria and her relationship with the Von Trapp family. With a timeless score including Do-Re-Mi, My Favorite Things and Climb Ev'ry Mountain, this global phenomenon continues to enchant audiences across the world."

Pitt-Pulford's theatre credits include Mack & Mabel and Parade (Southwark Playhouse), The Little Prince (Lyric, Belfast), Jack & Jill (Oxford Playhouse), Little Fish (Finborough), Sunset Boulevard (Comedy & Watermill) and more.

French has appeared in the West End in West Side Story, Chicago, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Les Miserables and more. He is known for his roles in TV's EastEnders, Casualty and Holby City.
