Due to his increased radio and television commitments, Alan Jones needs to remain located in Sydney so has had to withdraw from the Melbourne and Brisbane seasons, but will join the company to play the Captain during the Sydney Opera House season.

Excitement is growing as the cast of Melbourne Theatre Company's Rupert have one sleep ahead of them before the play's US premiere at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts World Stages: International Theater Festival on Wednesday night (US time).
The Washington DC-bound cast of Melbourne Theatre Company's 2013 hit, David Williamson's Rupert, began rehearsals today ahead of performing at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts World Stages: International Theater Festival next month. Rupert will be on stage at the Kennedy Center in the Eisenhower Theater from Wednesday 12 - Saturday 15 March.
The CBC will be casting Dorothy in an Andrew Lloyd Webber production of THE WIZARD OF OZ via a live TV show, Over the Rainbow. Auditions begin in June, and the show will mount in December, according to 680news.com.

Both have been with the show since the beginning, and audiences had been following the yellow brick road over the rainbow to see Crawford (as the Wizard) and Danielle Hope (as Dorothy), winner of BBC TV's Over the Rainbow, at The London Palladium. But before they leave, the cast celebrated Crawford's 70th birthday at a recent curtain call.
