Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), dedicated to advancing the art and business of live entertainment, held their 28th Annual MAC Awards celebration last evening at BB King's Blues club in Times Square. Winners in twenty-five categories were announced. The show was hosted by the vivacious singer, band leader, multiple MAC Award winner and 2014 Nominee, Terese Genecco. The gala was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, the current MAC President. Don Rebic served as Musical Director. Presenters included Will Friedwald of the Wall Street Journal and designer Bob Mackie.

Artistic Director and Conductor Stewart Robertson and the Atlantic Classical Orchestra (ACO) set the mood for spring with works by French composers Debussy and Ravel, and the chamber orchestra version of Mahler's Symphony No. 1 during the ACO's third concert of the 2014 season. The March 6 performance at the Waxlax Center in Vero at 8 PM and the March 7 concerts at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart at 4 PM and 8 PM also feature the world premiere of the ACO's second 2014 season commission, Concerto for Clarinet and Chamber Orchestra, by rising star American composer Jeffrey Parola. The commission, known as The Rappaport Prize for Music Composition, is part of the Orchestra's latest musical venture, The Commission Project, which champions contemporary American composers.
