Winners have been announced for the 2020 BroadwayWorld South Carolina Awards - which were back bigger than ever, celebrating the best in local theatre of the past decade!
TUCK EVERLASTING will play its final performance on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 7:30pm after playing 28 previews and 39 regular performances at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th St.). TUCK EVERLASTING began previews March 31 and officially opened on April 26, 2016.
The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathers today for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway).
TUCK EVERLASTING, the new musical based on Natalie Babbitt's beloved best-selling novel of the same name, will record a cast album to be released by DMI Soundtracks and distributed by Warner-Elektra-Atlantic Corporation.TUCK EVERLASTING's cast album will be produced by Frank Filipetti, Chris Miller, and Sean Patrick Flahaven, and will be recorded and mixed by Frank Filipetti. The album will be released digitally on Friday, June 10, 2016 and in stores wherever CDs are sold on Friday, July 1, 2016.
The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart.

The busiest times of the musical theater world is quickly coming amongst us, especially for high school thespians- spring show season. Community and local theaters are either holding auditions or waiting for a stressful week of tech before productions that have the potential to be massive moments in the theater and community history. For high school students, this is the most exhilarating, yet draining, season of the year. Fortunately- I am one of these students.
42nd Street opens Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. Originally billed as a 'song and dance extravaganza' this production based on the 2001 Tony Award winning revival, is directed by Casey Colgan and features the original revival choreography by: Randy Skinner (restaged and adapted by: Kelli Barclay).
'Anything Goes' opens Friday, December 7 at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island. The classic show features the music of legendary Cole Porter, including such hits as 'Anything Goes', 'I Get a Kick Out of You', 'You're the Top', 'Blow, Gabriel, Blow', and 'It's De-Lovely'. A large cast of professional actor's based mostly out of New York City joins some favorite local performers to round out a large cast of 30.
