The Broadway at Birdland concert series has announced that writer/performer/director Ben Rimalower will host The Lady's Got Potential, an evening of songs and conversation with some of the most exciting up and coming actresses working in musical theater today. The event will take place on Monday, April 7 at 7pm.

The Sierra Stages production of the landmark musical comedy COMPANY by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth closes its four weekend run on Sunday March 23. The final four performances are Thursday March 20 at 7 PM, Friday & Saturday March 21 & 22 at 8 PM and Sunday March 23 at 2 PM at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City.

The Acting Company will present a staged reading of Nude with Violin, Noel Coward's satire on modern art, criticism, pretension and the value placed on art at 7 pm on Monday, March 24 at the Signature Theatre (Alice Griffin Jewel Box), 480 West 42nd Street (9th-10th Avenues).

According to Deadline, HAIRSPRAY's Adam Shankman has been tapped by HBO to direct and executive produce an upcoming biopic on the 'ultimate stage mother' and subject of Broadway's GYPSY, Rose Hovick.

The internationally-­acclaimed Pacific Chorale in Orange County, CA will be presenting a new work created by American opera composer Jake Heggie, and the versatilelibrettist Gene Scheer entitled 'THE RADIO HOUR'. The choral opera will be conducted by Pacific Chorale's Artistic Director, John Alexander, and stage-­directed by James R. Taulli.

The Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF) announced its highly anticipated film line-up for the 19th edition, April 3 - 10, 2014, featuring 14 World Premieres, 8 North American and 8 U.S. Premieres. PBIFF (www.pbifilmfest.org) will present features, documentaries and short films from the U.S. and around the world, including Brazil, Venezuela, France, England, Israel, Hong Kong, Japan, India, New Zealand, Austria, the Philippines, Croatia, Australia, Canada, Germany and South Korea, to name just a few, and will play host to filmmakers, producers and actors to represent and discuss their films.

Last Call Theatricals will present a special 75-minute Industry-Only Preview of a new musical, BOYS VS GIRLS, written by Drew Overcash, directed & choreographed by Josh Rhodes (Cinderella) on Tuesday March 25th at 12:30pm and 3:30pm at Pearl Studios (500 Eighth Avenue). Broadway royalty, two-time Tony Award-winner, and two-time Grammy Award-winner, Patti LuPone, returns to the Van Wezel on March 25, 2014 --with her new one-woman show--The Gypsy in My Soul. Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway returned to New York in February at the newly refurbished Davenport Theatre (354 W. 45th Street, Between 8th and 9th Avenues) with Forbidden Broadway: Alive and STILL Kicking. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, over the course of the spring, Alessandrini had planned on adding new material to reflect the season's openings. Now, the time as come to unveil the new edition, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY COMES OUT SWINGING! According to The New York Times, this version will begin performances March 17.

Arts For All has announced this year's annual benefit concert at Joe's Pub on April 28th, hosted by Aaron Lazar, star of Sting's upcoming, new musical, The Last Ship, and directed by Alexander Gemignani, currently appearing in Violet on Broadway. The evening will feature performances by other Broadway performers, donating their time and talents to raise money and awareness for Arts For All's free arts programming with in-need children in all five boroughs of New York City. This just in! New York City Center's acclaimed Encores! Off-Center series, under the artistic direction of Jeanine Tesori, will return this summer for a second season of landmark Off-Broadway musicals. The season opens with Jonathan Larson's tick, tick… BOOM!, June 25 - 28, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo, directed by Oliver Butler, and continues with a one-night only performance of Randy Newman'sFaust: The Concert, with Randy Newman as the Devil, directed by Thomas Kail, on July 1. Pump Boys and Dinettes, withbook, music and lyrics by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann , directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford, wraps up the season, running July 16 - 19. Chris Fenwick is the Encores! Off-Center music director.
