Barnstormers Opens 2011-12 Season With ROCKY HORROR, Tickets On Sale Now

The Barnstormers Theater in Ridley Park, PA is preparing to bring the Halloween classic, Richard O' Brien's 'THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW' to its historic 103rd season! Director Marsha Amato-Greenspan and Assistant Director Sharon A. Daws bring their warped vision of this campy Halloween classic filled with music, fishnets and unadulterated mayhem to the stage. Rounding out the rest of the 'ROCKY HORROR' creative team is Music Director Matt Bennis and Choreographers Courtney Gardner and Nicole Peters.

Pride Films and Plays, a new not-for-profit, is proud to announce its inaugural activities as an organization. The first two events scheduled are Five Decades of Great Gay Theater, May 9 - June 13, a series of staged reading of great gay plays, Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 West Belmont*, and the Great Gay Screenplay Contest, held in conjunction with Chicago Filmmakers. The contest seeks new screenplays dealing with gay history, characters or themes and relevant to the world. The semi-finalists will be read this fall during Reeling: The Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival.

THE FIFTH OF JULY, by Lanford Wilson, was penned a decade after BOYS IN THE BAND, and wonderfully integrates the complex issues of sexuality into a drama of a strong family and friends.
