Even before the show opened last night Off-Broadway, producers Barbara Broccoli, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Frederick Zollo, Brian Carmody, Michael G. Wilson, and Executive Producer Robert Cole announced today that ONCE, the new musical based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film, will play Broadway's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre this spring. Previews will begin Tuesday, February 28, 2012 with opening night set for Sunday, March 18, 2012. Tonight's (Thursday) 8pm performance of SEMINAR on Broadway has been cancelled due to the show's star, Alan Rickman, suffering from an acute respiratory infection. He is hopeful to return to the show tomorrow, for their scheduled Friday night performance.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver today presented the sixth annual 'Made in NY' Awards, honoring six individuals and organizations which have made significant contributions to the City's entertainment and new media industries. This year's honorees included Matt Damon, John Leguizamo, Foursquare, Stacey Spikes, Smuggler, Lauren Zalaznick, and the first-ever 'Made in NY' Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement, which was awarded to Sidney Lumet and accepted on his behalf by the director's daughter, screenwriter Jenny Lumet.

The musical will feature the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), direction by the acclaimed Scottish director of Black Watch, John Tiffany, design by five time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (The Coast of Utopia, Mary Poppins). Steven Hoggett (American Idiot, Black Watch) will provide musical staging and Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!) is the music director.
