Tippet Rise Art Center today announced the details of its digital summer event Tippet Rise on Tour: August Festival, which will premiere seven short performance films between August 19 and 22. Da Camera of Houston's 2019-20 season launches with Bon Appetit!, an evening of surrealist and culinary musical delights, at the Cullen Theater, Wortham Theater Center on Saturday, September 21 at 7 p.m. The first of several Da Camera performances this season to prominently feature talented women, the concert is titled after composer Lee Hoiby's comedic operatic take on Julia Child's 1970s television show, with soprano Abigail Fischer as the beloved chef. The program also features the renowned Imani Winds performing Maurice Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin and acclaimed American vocalist Ryan McKinny in his Da Camera debut performing Francis Poulenc's delightfully absurd Le bal masque.

Tippet Rise Art Center, today announced full program details for its fourth concert season, to be presented over the course of seven weeks from July 12 to September 7, 2019. The season's artists will perform 23 recitals and chamber music concerts both indoors and out at the scenic art center, which is set on a 12,000-acre working ranch at the foot of Montana's Beartooth Mountains. Under the direction of newly appointed Artistic Advisor Pedja Muzijevic, the season will bring together some of the world's most sought-after musical artists along with rising stars, in programs that span more than four centuries of repertoire. 

Tippet Rise Art Center today announced that it will soon break ground on the latest of the lovingly crafted, sculptural buildings that dot its landscape: a new pavilion designed by the world-renowned architect Francis Kere. The 1,900-square-foot gathering place is scheduled to open in summer 2019.

The performance, conducted by ACO Music Director George Manahan, will feature the world premiere of Valerie Coleman's Phenomenal Women performed by the Imani Winds with ACO; as well as the world premiere of Alex Temple's Three Principles of Noir with singer Meaghan Burke, director Amber Treadway, and costumes by Storm Garner. Grammy and Grawemeyer Award-winning composer Joan Tower's Chamber Dance from 2006, which treats the orchestra as a chamber ensemble, completes the program.
