Tony Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated director Julie Taymor will be the FIRST TIME FEST'S 2014 John Huston Award For Achievement In Cinema recipient, announced FTF Co-Founders Johanna Bennett and Mandy Ward. Ms. Taymor will also be represented in the Fest's 'First Exposure' Retrospective Program where she will attend to present and discuss with the audience her first feature film, Titus.

Producer James L. Nederlander has confirmed that Patricia Clarkson, Bradley Cooper and Alessandro Nivola will star in Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning play THE ELEPHANT MAN, directed by Scott Ellis, this fall on Broadway at a Shubert theatre to be announced.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has named Mandy Greenfield as its new Artistic Director, the Festival's Board Chair Matt Harris announced today. Greenfield, who is currently Artistic Producer at Manhattan Theatre Club, succeeds Jenny Gersten beginning September 2014. As previously announced, Gersten departs Williamstown Theatre Festival in January 2014 to become Executive Director of Friends of the Highline. Gersten will program the upcoming 2014 season, and Williamstown Theatre Festival Producer Stephen Kaus will oversee the season. Greenfield's tenure as Artistic Director will begin immediately following the 2014 season, the Festival's 60th.

Williamstown Theatre Festival announced today that this year's Benefit will honor Award-winning director and frequent WTF collaborator Scott Ellis, on Monday, November 18th at 6:30 p.m. at the Edison Ballroom in New York City (240 West 47th Street). The evening will be hosted by Julie White, who won a Tony Award for her performance in the Ellis-helmed production of The Little Dog Laughed, and will include appearances by Tony Award-winners Chita Rivera, Susan Stroman, Rupert Holmes and more.

New York Stage and Film have announced that its Annual Winter Gala, to be held this year on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at The Plaza Hotel (770 Fifth Avenue, New York City), will honor Oscar nominated multi-hyphenate Stanley Tucci and business luminary Anne Tatlock. It was also announced today that, at the gala, Tony Award winners Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anika Noni Rose will perform selections from Miranda's upcoming The Hamilton Mixtape, which was performed in a concert reading this past summer during the 2013 Powerhouse Season, the annual highlight of the nearly three-decades long collaboration between Vassar College and New York Stage and Film to develop works for the American theater.

It was announced today that Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten will step down at the end of the year to become Executive Director of Friends of the Highline, the non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and re-use of an elevated railway that has become a renowned public space in New York City. While the search is underway for a new Artistic Director, WTF's 2014 summer season will remain under Gersten's Artistic Direction; she will curate and oversee the season to ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director, Tim Sanford; Managing Director, Leslie Marcus) has announced that the critically-acclaimed score for their World Premiere production of the new musical FAR FROM HEAVEN has been preserved as an Original Cast Recording and will be released by PS Classics, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American popular song. FAR FROM HEAVEN features a book by Tony Award winner and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain, The Assembled Parties), music by Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens at PH and on Broadway) and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens at PH and on Broadway, The Grapes of Wrath). PS Classics previously recorded and released the Playwrights Horizons productions of My Life With Albertine andGrey Gardens.

Lapham's Quarterly (Editor and Publisher Lewis Lapham) announced today their annual gala, the DECADES BALL: The 1950s, was held last night, June 3 at Capitale (130 Bowery at Grand Street). The evening, emceed by Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, included performances and readings by Tom Hanks and Patricia Clarkson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Martha Plimpton, Tony Kushner, Ari Graynor, Steven Pasquale, Francois Battiste, Paul Muldoon, Nellie McKay, and a toast by Editor and Publisher of Lapham's Quarterly, Lewis Lapham. Image Entertainment, an RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand, has acquired all U.S. rights to the romantic drama Last Love, based on Francoise Dorner's French novel La Douceur Assassine. Starring Oscar winner Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception), who recently signed on to star in Interstellar his 6th Christopher Nolan film, Last Love is written and directed by Sandra Nettelbeck, and co-stars Clemence Poesy (In Bruges, 127 Hours), Justin Kirk (Goats, Showtime's 'Weeds'), Gillian Anderson (The X Files) and Jane Alexander (Dream House, Terminator Salvation). Bill Bromiley, chief acquisitions officer for Image Entertainment, made today's announcement.
