Harlem9 presents the Obie Award Winning '48 HOURS IN HARLEM' -- a twist on the traditional 24-hour play festival. This event marks the 4th year of the collaborative Harlem9, bringing together 6 playwrights, 6 directors, and 18 actors to re-conceive classic plays from the African Diaspora over the course of one weekend in Harlem. 48 HOURS IN HARLEM culminates in a final presentation on Sunday, August 17, 2014.

This year's final full-length offering, "Steel Hammer" from the world-renowned SITI Company and legendary director Anne Bogart, compares a man to his myth and explores all the dimensions one person's story can develop.

The legendary Angela Lansbury visited Irish Repertory Theatre at 132 West 22nd Street in Manhattan on Thursday, November 11 for its world premiere production of Kelly Younger's BANISHED CHILDREN OF EVE, based on the best-selling novel by Peter Quinn, which is currently running through December 5.

The Irish Repertory Theatre commissioned playwright Kelly Younger to write this bristling drama set during the Civil War in New York City. BANISHED CHILDREN OF EVE follows a motley assemblage of New Yorkers through a few days in the terrible summer of 1863 when the Civil War had just entered its third bloody year.
