"Salome, Salome, dance for me!"

PlayMakers Repertory Company will present a workshop production of"De Profundis," an original work being developed and directed by explosive theatre-makers Brian Mertes and Jim Findlay.

The Washington Stage Guild starts its 'Pearl Anniversary' season with a remount of one of America's favorite holiday stories in It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. It's Christmas Eve, 1946, and we are the studio audience for a local radio station as its cast of voice actors and one very busy sound effects man broadcast the beloved tale of George Bailey and his encounter with Clarence, his guardian angel. Despite some fine singing from soprano Patricia Racette (who also went the Full Monty in the title role), the Met's revival of Richard Strauss's SALOME was a little tame--something that it should never be.

Celebrated up-and-coming experimental director Jeremy Bloom adapts and directs this amalgamation of short stories. Wilde Tales begins performances on Wednesday, December 7 at 7pm and opens on Saturday, December 10 at 7pm. Moises Kaufman's enduring drama of Oscar Wilde's three trials for homosexual behavior in late 19th Century England will be presented through a new lens with the casting of female actors in some of the roles traditionally played by men. Promethean's Artistic Director Brian Pastor, will who direct the production, made the announcement today.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Quinn, will present Trans Scripts, Part I: The Women, written by Paul Lucas and directed by Jo Bonney. Performances begin on Thursday, January 19 and run through Sunday, February 5 at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle St, Cambridge.

Five new faces are joining the CATCO family for the 2016-17 season. The Columbus-based professional Equity theater company announced via press release the appointment of five new apprentices, many of whom hail from Ohio universities.

La MaMa presents Clover, a new experimental theater drama about America's history of violence by Erik Ehn, directed by Glory Kadigan with original music by Maya Solovey and original puppet design & puppetry direction by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew.  Performances will be staged at the First Floor Theatre at La MaMa, 74a East 4th Street,New York, NY 10003 from December 1-16, 2016.
