Efron Closes in on Nicholas Sparks Film and ROMEO & JULIET Adaptation

Deadline.com reports that Zac Efron is close to signing on to two future feature films. The first is Warner Brothers' 'The Lucky One,' Will Fetters and Doug McGrath's adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel, directed by Scott Hicks. In it, Efron would play a soldier returning from Iraq seeking the girl in his 'good luck' photograph. The second film is 'Die in a Gunfight,' an original screenplay by recent NYU graduates Andrew Berrer and Gabriel Ferrari. In it, Efron would play a Romeo-type young man in a romance forbidden by two feuding families.
