NNPN Sets CHURCH & STATE as 60th Rolling World Premiere

The National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 60th NNPN Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Church & State by Jason Odell Williams. The play was developed in conjunction with Ralph Meranto, Artistic Director of Associate Member JCC CenterStage (Rochester, NY, October 20-November 6, 2016). Other partner theaters are NNPN Associate Member Skylight Theatre Company (Los Angeles, CA, July 2-August 14, 2016) and Core Member New Jersey Repertory Company (Long Branch, NJ, May 4-June 4, 2017).

Ian Kahn to Lead Reading of Jason Odell Williams' New Play CHURCH & STATE

Lead producer Charlotte Cohn will present a staged reading of Jason Odell Williams' new play, Church & State, for one night only on Monday, April 4th at 7pm at The Cell Theatre (338 W 23rd Street). Proceeds from the reading will benefit Sandy Hook Promise. Ian Kahn ("George Washington" on AMC's Turn, Hard Love, Enron) will lead the cast, which also includes Beth Hylton, Judy Jerome, and Andy Talen. Gregg Wiggans directs (TV's Smash). Boulevard Ensemble Theatre opened their 30th season at the East Side Plymouth Church presenting an absolutley charming romance Handle with Care. Award-winning author and playwright Jason Odell Williams' wrote a heartwarming comedy and intertwines several religious traditions when a young Jewish woman, Ayelot, travels from Israel to America with her Grandmother Edna to rural Virginia, and tonight of all nights, Christmas Eve, they land in the small town of Goodview.
