Peninsula Players Theatre Names Artistic Company for 81st Season

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's Oldest Professional Resident Summer Theatre and Door County's theatrical icon, announces company members for its 81st season, running June 14 through October 16, 2016. The mix of plays include a late-in-life romance, an intriguing whodunit, a raucous pop-rock musical, an engaging Midwest premiere and a wildly comic thriller.

SHINING CITY, Starring Matthew Broderick, Opens Tonight at Irish Rep

A friendly reminder! Previews begin tonight for Irish Repertory Theatre's production of Conor McPherson's acclaimed play SHINING CITY, starring two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick. Directed by Ciaran O'Reilly, SHINING CITY also features Billy Carter (The Weir, Port Authority), Lisa Dwan (the acclaimed Beckett Trilogy), and James Russell (Port Authority, Juno and the Paycock).

National Geographic Live Speaker Series Announced for Benaroya Hall

Subscriptions are on sale now for the upcoming 20th Season of the Seattle National Geographic Live Speaker Series presented by the Seattle Symphony. Demand for the series has grown each year; and all presentations for all six lectures in the 2016-2017 season will be in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium. Single event tickets go on sale August 13 at 10am.

Amphibian Stage Productions to Present SMART PRETTY FUNNY, Casting Announced!

Amphibian Stage Productions has announced the cast and creative team for its fourth main stage play of the 2016 season, Smart Pretty Funny by Kathleen Culebro.  Starring Gretchen Corbett, Rene Moreno, Vanessa DeSilvio, Ivan Jasso, and Anastasia Muñoz, the play will run Thursday, October 20 through Sunday, November 13 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

Crowded Outlet to Premiere LONE STAR SPIRITS at the 4th Street Theatre

Crowded Outlet, a not-for-profit development and producing organization in its inaugural year, is proud to announce the New York premiere of the new comedy LONE STAR SPIRITS.  Written by Josh Tobiessen (the critically acclaimed Election Day) and directed by Wes Grantom (Eager to Lose and The Steadfast), LONE STAR SPIRITS will be performed Friday, June 3rd through Sunday, June 19th, 2016 at the 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street).  The Press Opening is set for Monday, June 6th at 7 PM.  Tickets ($18.00) are now available online via Brown Paper Tickets -- http://lonestarspirits.bpt.me.

Victory Gardens Theater to Offer Series of Free Play Readings This Month

Victory Gardens Theater announces the June lineup for The VG Reading Series. This regularly scheduled program of play readings provides playwrights a platform to develop their plays-in-progress, and will give audiences opportunities to experience exciting new work throughout the year. The Reading Series adds to VG's current programming of world premieres and new plays and the IGNITION Festival of New Plays.

Stage Left Theatre to Host LeapFest XIII, 6/25-7/31

2016 Season Tennessee Williams Theater Fest to be Held in September

2016 marks the centenary of the year Eugene O'Neill began writing ground-breaking plays in Provincetown, considered the birthplace of modern American theater. This year, the 11th Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater (TW Fest) will offer new approaches to staging O'Neill from the perspective of Tennessee Williams' genre-busting dramas.

Jackalope Theatre Company Sets 2016-17 Season

Jackalope Theatre Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gus Menary and Managing Director Nate Silver, announces its 2016/17 season. The company's 9th season features three productions: a world premiere, a U.S premiere, and a Midwest premiere. The season begins with the U.S premiere of Octagon by Kristiana Rae Colon, directed by Tara Branham, continues with the world premiere of The Snare by Samantha Beach, directed by Jackalope Associated Producer Elana Boulos, and concludes with the Midwest premiere of Ideation by Aaron Loeb, directed by Jackalope Artistic Director Gus Menary.

Erin Markey, Josh Sharp, April Kidwell, and More Join NIGHT OF A THOUSAND JUDYS on 6/6

Erin Markey, Josh Sharp, April Kidwell, Michael Cyril Creighton and Phillip Taratula will join the cast of the sixth annual "Night Of A Thousand Judys" - the Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center presented by The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre. The event will take place at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center (129 West 67th Street in Manhattan) on Monday, June 6.

Baltimore & UK High Schools Partner to Present London Premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN Today

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) and Education at Roundabout (Jennifer DiBella, Director of Education) are pleased to announce that Baltimore School for the Arts in the US and Showdown Theatre Arts in the UK will present the London premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of New York City teenagers, Prospect High: Brooklyn was developed in partnership with Education at Roundabout and the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships. The play is in the midst of a Rolling World Premiere in 23 high school productions across the US, September 2015 - September 2016, but this will be the very first international production. Premiere Stages to Open 12th Season at Kean University with THREE RULES FOR THE DRAGON

Premiere Stages at Kean University will launch its much-anticipated 2016 Season with a free staged reading of Jeff Talbott's provocative new play, Three Rules for the Dragon, June 17-19 in Kean's Murphy Dunn Theatre. Selected from over 400 submissions, Three Rules for the Dragon is the first of two scripts scheduled for expanded development as part of the 2016 Premiere Stages Play Festival.
