Ed Goodman returned from the European theaters of World War II to start his family, and life, with his bride Susie. Over the years the Goodman family grows and changes right along with the world and the times. A Thorn In The Family Paw looks at four days in that family's life but it's enough to paint an intriguing picture of the struggles, strength, patience, and understanding it takes to keep moving forward.

Theatre West is an internationally acclaimed non-profit arts organization in Hollywood, California. Established in 1962, Theatre West is the oldest continually running theatre company in Los Angeles. Productions have toured both sides of the Atlantic, including the Edinburgh and Dublin Festivals, New York City, Atlanta, South Carolina, Seattle, San Francisco, and throughout California. Over the years Theatre West's plays have transferred from Cahuenga Blvd. to Broadway

Prior to its upcoming premiere at the prestigious theatre in June, A Thorn In The Family Paw was developed and showcased at the award-winning Gallery Theatre in 2013 under the direction of theatrical and Disney Live Entertainment director, Glenn Kelman, and the script was a 2012 semifinalist at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference.

Garry Kluger has authored three books, eleven plays, two TV pilots, twelve documentaries, and several series. For television, Kluger was head writer for The FX Friday Night FiX, and was nominated for a CableACE Award for the Ultimate Guide on the Discovery Channel. He was also the producer/writer for the original TV pilot, Office Hours.

Along with A Thorn In The Family Paw, Kluger's plays In A Yellow Wood, and Walking In Space have been semi-finalists in the O'Neill Playwrights Conference. He has won the DFAP International One Act Festival for The Other Half, won the Gold Award for Office Hours and the Bronze Award for Aquarius Rising from the World Series Of Screenwriting, Play Competition, won Highly Recommended from the Segora Playwrights Festival in France for Prodigal Returns, and twice a finalist from the Sterts Theatre in London for his one acts, The Other Half and Brotherhood. Also the film script of his play The Other Half was recently selected to be a finalist for the LGBT Tea Dance & Big Pride Film Festivals.
