League of Professional Theatre Women to Host Interview with Laura Linney

The League of Professional Theatre Women,  is pleased that three-time Academy Award and three-time Tony Award nominee, LAURA LINNEY will sit down with JAMES NAUGHTON to discuss her extensive body of work in theatre, film and TV. The event will take place on Monday, March 6 at 6:00 PM in the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts on 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue. Admission is free, but seats will be on a first-come-first-seated basis.  

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces cast and Creative Team for Short Shakespeare! ROMEO AND JULIET

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces the cast and creative team for Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet, a 75-minute abridgment of William Shakespeare's classic tale of true love found-and tragically lost. Adapted and directed by Marti Lyons and featuring a dynamic ensemble cast, the production speaks to today's young people about their own lives. In addition to public performances on Saturdays, this production welcomes 1,000 students each day during its five-week run in the Courtyard Theater, followed by an extensive tour to schools across the region through April 28, 2017. Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet will be performed for the public Saturdays at 11:00 a.m., February 25-March 25, 2017.

Playwright, Rob Cardazone Presents Go Gently Forward, a developmental reading for the book of a new musical, written by Rob Cardazone; directed by Guy Stroman. San Francisco Opera 2017 Radio Broadcast Schedule Announced for February Through August

The partnership between San Francisco Opera and the Bay Area's Classical KDFC continues with monthly broadcasts of performances captured during the Fall 2016 Season, including the world premiere of Bright Sheng and David Henry Hwang's Dream of the Red Chamber, and a historic broadcast from the Company's archives. All performances were recorded live at the War Memorial Opera House and feature the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus (Ian Robertson, Chorus Director).

Obi Abili to Star in Eugene O'Neill's THE EMPEROR JONES at Irish Rep

Irish Repertory Theatre will present Eugene O'Neill's THE EMPEROR JONES, directed by Ciaran O'Reilly (Shining City) this spring, starring Obi Abili (Ivo van Hove's Antigone at BAM). THE EMPEROR JONES begins performances on March 1, 2017 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage, opens on March 12, and runs through April 23, 2017.

Jen Silverman's THE MOORS to Shed Light on Women at The Playwrights Realm
