National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce the lineup for the SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE and the SONGWRITERS CABARET at the 27th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16. Both events take place at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Registration for Industry members is free and now open at www.namt.org/festival. Grammy and Emmy Award-winner Joe Raposo and Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheldon Harnick's uplifting musical A Wonderful Life reminds us how one person's life can touch that of so many others. Based on the beloved 1946 holiday movie classic, this charming musical is sure to inspire and entertain. A Wonderful Life will run September 18 through November 29 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn.

Bobby Steggert discusses MY PARIS, in whiuch he plays French artist Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, The show is now playing at Connecticut's Norma Terris Theater in Chester.

Discover the story of Toulouse-Lautrec, the man whose art evoked the spirit of a changing society. Experience the vibrant nightlife of turn-of-the-20th century Paris and meet the characters who inspired Toulouse-Lautrec's most provocative and unforgettable paintings.  My Paris will run July 23 through August 16 at the Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn.

Tonight, June 6th, designer and director Tony Walton will receive The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre at Goodspeed Musicals' Gala event RAZZLE DAZZLE. Julie Andrews will present Walton with the award at the event.

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the 17 writers and 8 new musicals selected for the fifth summer of weeklong retreats. For eight consecutive weeks beginning July 5th, each writing team will have a residency in Rhinebeck, New York. Writers are provided a private home, transportation, food, and a $400 stipend. This year's writers include Obie winner Kirsten Childs, Tony nominee Elizabeth Davis, and 2015 Jonathan Larson award-winners Charlie Sohne, Tim Rosser, and Sam Willmott, who also just won the Kleban Prize. 

Actor Richard Kline, best known for his role in the classic sitcom, Three's Company, will return to performing in Connecticut at the Westport Country Playhouse's upcoming production of And A Nightingale Sang. Kline has never performed at the Playhouse, but he has ties to Connecticut.
