NYC Department of Transportation Presents COCKTAIL HOUR: THE SHOW During 12th Annual Summer Streets

Tribeca-based company Ballets with a Twist joins the line-up of local entertainment during the New York City Department of Transportation's twelfth annual Summer Streets with a performance of Cocktail Hour: The Show on August 10 at 12pm. The event will take place at the Astor Place Rest Stop stage (Astor Place and Lafayette Street) as part of the first ever Summer Streets Dance Festival.

Sarah Jaffe Announces New Companion EPs

Texas singer-songwriter Sarah Jaffe has announced the release of her new companion EPs – This Is Better Part 1 & This Is Better Part 2 – due out July 19th via Kirtland Records. The songs across the two EPs came out of some intense writing sessions with producer and collaborator Aaron Kelley, who Jaffe first connected with to write music for films.  The two clicked and started working on songs together.  Over the weeks that followed Jaffe dug deep, writing songs that helped her deal with the emotions she was processing as a result of a recent heartbreak she was going through.  Originally planning to shop these songs around, Jaffe decided she couldn't part ways and wanted to record them for herself.

Doudna Fine Arts Center Presents COCKTAIL HOUR: THE SHOW

The Doudna Fine Arts Center at Eastern Illinois University opens its 2019-20 season with Cocktail Hour: The Show, by New York City-based company Ballets with a Twist, on September 19 and 20. The engagement will feature two different program line-ups drawing on an extensive repertory of theatrical dance cocktails. Throughout the evening, beer, wine, and a special selection of cocktails and mocktails from the program will be available in the main Concourse.

City and Colour Releases New Single STRANGERS From Forthcoming LP Out This Fall

City and Colour, acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer Dallas Green, debuts the first official radio single, “Strangers”, from his upcoming album, due this Fall on Green's newly minted Still Records, an imprint of Dine Alone Records. “'Strangers' is about how you will never truly know another human being,” says Green. “You'll never really understand what it's like to be inside someone else's brain or heart. So, we need to appreciate the differences. If we do, maybe we can live better with one another.” The single hinges on a buoyant riff and hummable groove and charges towards a ghostly refrain awash in reverb as Green pleads, “Don't wake me when this is over, just let me drift amidst my dreams.”

Anna Vogelzang Announces New Album 'Beacon'

Acclaimed Los Angeles singer-songwriter Anna Vogelzang today announces her new album Beacon, due out October 4th, 2019 and available to pre-order now. The title track and first single from Beacon is available now on all digital service providers, here.  Beaconmarks the first release from Vogelzang since making her home in Los Angeles, a move that has proven fruitful for the multi-instrumentalist and new mother. Preparing for the third installment of the month-long Salon Residency at the Bootleg Theatre, an event that was born from a weekly co-writing night that Vogelzang co-founded with guitarist Adam Levy (Norah Jones, Vulfpeck), Vogelzang can be seen performing new songs from Beacon at the upcoming and final night of the residency on Monday June 24th, 2019 with special guest performances from Sarah Watkins, Leslie Stevens, AO Gerber, Abby Gerber and more. City and Colour Releases New Single 'Astronaut' and Announces North American Tour

City and Colour (AKA acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer Dallas Green), debuts a new song, “Astronaut,” today. “Astronaut” is the first original music from City and Colour in almost four years and will be featured on his upcoming LP to be released this Fall on Green's newly minted Still Records, an imprint of Dine Alone Records. “I always think of the relationships in my life that have been fractured because I ended up doing what I do for a living,” says Green regarding the inspiration for the new song. “I'm always gone, wandering around and singing songs. However, it weighs on my family and friends. I'm asking for 'one more year'. I left home at 21 to go play my guitar. It's lonely, but it's because I yearn to wander. I'm aware of how lucky I am.”

Tedeschi Trucks Band Returns To Beacon Theater For Year Two Of Dual City Residency

The Madison Square Garden Company announced today that Tedeschi Trucks Band will return to the Beacon Theatre for six nights in 2019 as part of their multi-year, dual city residency at The Madison Square Garden Company venues, one of the company's most unique bookings to date. The 2019 Beacon Theatre shows will be presented by Live Nation and will take place on September 27 and 28, and October 1, 2, 4 and 5. Tickets for all six shows will go on sale on Friday, April 12 at 10:00AM. One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated, via Tedeschi Trucks Band, to the Kofi Burbridge Music Matters Fund.
