Karen Carpenter, a producer, director and teacher, a theater-maker for more than 30 years, has been appointed the interim Artistic Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts and the 34th Annual William Inge Theatre Festival. Tony Award winner Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots, The Normal Heart) and Karyl Lynn Burns (The Best is Yet to Come) present the New York premiere of Wiesenthal, the award-winning play written by and starring Tom Dugan and directed by Jenny Sullivan. Wiesenthal launches a limited 14-week engagement, from October 24 through February 1, at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, (410 W. 42nd Street). Opening night is November 5.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that Sleepless in Seattle co-stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan might reunite in the upcoming film ITHACA, based on William Saroyan's novel The Human Comedy. Hanks is in talks for a cameo appearance in addition to executive producing the feature. ITHACA is Ryan's directorial debut.
