The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced casting for the additional concerts and events surrounding their 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Today, October 22nd the Festival kicks off with The 46th Minute, a concert featuring cut songs and new material from all eight 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals selections, followed by The 2014 Songwriters Showcase on October 23rd and The Songwriters Sessions on October 23rd and 24th, all at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Michael Cassara Casting serves as the resident casting office for the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, taking place on Thursday, October 23, 2014 and Friday, October 24, 2014 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). The 2014 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:30pm with an audience of over 1,200. Princeton Day School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical for their production of Urinetown. A total of 29 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes.

It's the news that everyone's been waiting for! Cameron Mackintosh announced today the first four cast members of his acclaimed new production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece Les Miserables, which returns to Broadway beginning Saturday, March 1 at the Imperial Theatre.

Collaborative Arts Project 21, America's Musical Theatre Conservatory and Theatre Company (CAP21) and Molloy College have established a one-of-a-kind partnership. CAP21 is in residency at Molloy College, and to inaugurate the residency, both institutions are developing a four year BFA Theatre Arts Degree Program that will combine CAP21's 20 years of experience in training musical theatre actors and Molloy College's renowned academic programming.

The Actors Fund's annual gala last night, April 29, 2013 at the New York Marriott Marquis honored Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro, the pay television company HBO and entrepreneur/film producer and Fund trustee Steve Kalafer. Sundance Institute just presented playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins with the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. Sundance Institute Emeritus Trustee Sally Field presented the honor and accompanying $10,000 grant at the Celebrate Sundance Institute benefit for its Theatre Program last night at Stephan Weiss Studio in Greenwich Village.
