BWW Reviews: ROCK OF AGES National Tour in Denver

ROCK OF AGES is definitely our generation's first original rock musical - 'our generation' meaning us kids born in the '60s and '70s. With its totally bitchin' playlist of Top 40 '80s ballads and songs of rebellion, no wonder Hollywood is clamoring to make this into a movie.

BWW REVIEWS: ROCK OF AGES Brings Down the House at TUTS

The 80's rockers had the audience in the palms of their hands during the national tour of Rock of Ages which closes out the Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) season at the Hobby Center. With several audience members dressed in their best rocker garb, the majority seemed to be reliving glory days of their youth. The audience became so enthralled providing boisterous hoots, fist pumps and a few waived lighters, that it was impossible not to get caught up in the experience of this wildly entertaining show.

Nothin' But A Good Time at ROCK OF AGES

Have you ever crimped and teased your hair? Fantasized about Tawny Kitaen dancing on the hood of your Jaguar? Played some epic air guitar, or even some epic Guitar Hero?

Maroulis to Depart ROCK OF AGES in July; Working on Album

'American Idol' alum and Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis will soon say goodbye to the national tour of Rock of ages, according to a recent interview with JSOnline. Maraoulis, who originated leading man 'Drew' on Broadway, commented: 'I've set out and accomplished everything I've wanted to do.' Maroulis departs from the show in July after being involved with the show for three years.

Constantine Maroulis Introduces Baby Malena

Constantine Maroulis, who originated the role of Drew in ROCK OF AGES on Broadway, recently introduced his first child, Malena James to the world via People Magazine. On how he and mom ANgel Reed chose the now three month old's name, he commented: '. 'I always loved the name. I'm not fond of a lot of Greek female names. James is my middle name and my father's name. It just fit.'

BWW Reviews: ROCK OF AGES Rocks the City by the Bay - Now thru April 9th

The Tony-nominated musical, Rock of Ages, is rocking stages across the country as it continues its Constantine Maroulis-led national tour. The Broadway favorite found its way into San Francisco's Curran Theater last week and promptly brought down the house. Playing now through April 9th in the city that was built on rock-n-roll, Rock of Ages, is a not-to-be-missed, fun ride of a musical.

Curran Theatre Welcomes ROCK OF AGES, 3/8-4/9

The music that ignited a generation is going to heat up San Francisco! The classic rock love story of the decade erupts into Broadway's best party, all to the sounds of such feel-good, sing-out-loud songs as Every Rose Has Its Thorn, I Wanna Know What Love Is, Here I Go Again, Don't Stop Believin' and more. ROCK OF AGES plays the Curran Theatre (445 Geary Street) March 8 through April 9 as part of the 2010-2011 Best of Broadway series under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hays. Tickets on sale now!

BWW Reviews: ROCK OF AGES Comes Home to L.A.

When did the Pantages Theatre turn into a nostalgia rock concert venue? 2011 so far has featured 60's-set HAIR and the 1891 emo rockers of SPRING AWAKENING and now, it plays host to the national tour of ROCK OF AGES, the surprising yet undeniably hilarious Tony-nominated jukebox musical that features a conveyor belt of rock hits from the biggest hair bands of the 1980's. This affectionately low-brow but impressively entertaining show charms the leather pants of its audience thanks to its wicked humor, its self-effacing references, plenty of nostalgic sight-gags, and, of course, those ubiquitous 80's tunes most of us won't admit to really liking. Playing at the Pantages through February 27 (then at the Segerstrom Center of the Arts in Orange County, March 1-6), it's certainly a show chock-full of guilty pleasures.

BWW Reviews: ROCK OF AGES at the Paramount

Big hair and dreams have come to the Paramount. No, it's not "Hairspray" or even "Hair" (since we just had that one). No, fast forward about 20 years from that one and you have the 80's rock musical "Rock of Ages". And while no one could accuse the show of being deep or important, it's certainly loud, goofy and fun!
