Before every performance by The Public Theater's Mobile Unit, the audience is reminded of Joseph Papp's credo that the plays of William Shakespeare belong to everyone. The theatre pioneer created the world-famous Shakespeare In The Park based on that simple philosophy, and it's the driving force behind this unique outreach branch helping to fulfill the historic company's mission.

The Public Theater begins previews for the MOBILE UNIT's production of THE WINTER'S TALE on Sunday, November 26. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, Troilus and Cressida had its official opening on August 9, 2016. This is the second of three productions in the 2016 Shakespeare in the Park season, which is produced by The Public Theater.

The Public Theater recently announced that Louis Cancelmi, last seen as Caliban in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, had stepped into the company of Troilus and Cressida as Achilles, replacing David Harbour, who suffered an injury during previews and will be unable to complete the run. The play celebrates its opening tonight, August 9, after a short delay.
