Everyman Theatre Announces Directors for 2012-13 Season Productions

Everyman Theatre has announced the directors attached to each of its six productions in the 2012/13 season. Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi will helm two productions during the landmark season, including August: Osage County, which will be the first production at Everyman's new location on Fayette Street in January, 2013. The season will include two productions at the theatre's current location on Charles Street, followed by four productions at the new location on Fayette Street.

Due to popular demand, FREUD'S LAST SESSION, the smash hit at the Mercury Theater (3745 N. Southport, Chicago), will now run through September 2nd with an exciting new Chicago cast, including local theater legend, Mike Nussbaum (Emmy, Drama Desk Award and four-time Jeff Award winner) as "Sigmund Freud" and Coburn Goss (Vigils at the Goodman Theatre, Dead Man's Cell Phone at Steppenwolf Theatre Companyand Off Broadway When the Messenger is Hot at 59E59) as "C.S. Lewis". A current sold-out sensation in New York and winner of the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play, the Midwest Premiere of FREUD'S LAST SESSION has received rave reviews and a Jeff Recommendation.

In celebration of the 100th Chicago performance of the FREUD'S LAST SESSION at the Mercury Theater (3745 N. Southport), the producers will host a Sigmund Freud Look-A-Like contest.

The Marriott Theatre to Premiere HERO, Starring Erich Bergen, Beginning 6/20

The Marriott Theatre (10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire) presents HERO, a new musical written by Aaron Thielen with music and lyrics by Michael Mahler, previewing June 20, opening June 27 at 8 p.m. and running through August 19, 2012. Eleven-time Jeff award-winner David H. Bell directs and choreographs. Erich Bergen (JERSEY BOYS, Nat'l Tour) stars as Hero Batowski.

Next Theatre Extends AFTER THE REVOLUTION Through 5/19

Next Theatre Company has extended the Midwest premiere of Amy Herzog's After the Revolution through Saturday, May 19. Next also announces that Fredric Stone will make his Next Theatre debut as he takes over for Mike Nussbaum in the role of "Morty" beginning with the Thursday, May 3 performance.

FREUD'S LAST SESSION by Mark St. Germain, now in its second successful year in New York, and currently running at the Mercury Theater (3745 N. Southport, Chicago) will host a birthday celebration in honor of the anniversary of Sigmund Freud's 156th birthday on Sunday, May 6. Following both performances that day, audiences will have the opportunity to meet and greet with the cast members and snack on cupcakes. One lucky audience member will be selected to receive a "Freudian Slip" by Cosabella, courtesy of Chicago's G Boutique.

Next Theatre 2012 - 2013 Season to Include U.S. Premiere of EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATE

Next Theatre Company announces their 32nd main stage season. The season begins with Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee, directed by David Kersnar; followed by the Midwest premiere of Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter written by Julie Marie Myatt and directed by Jessica Thebus. The United States premiere of Everything is Illuminated, by Simon Block adapted from Jonathan Safron Foers' novel and directed by Devon DeMayo begins 2013, and the season will conclude with a co-production with the Theatre and Interpretation Center at Northwestern University, and in partnership with The Center on Wrongful Convictions, The Exonerated, by Jessica Blank and Eric Jensen, directed by Cat Miller and presented at the Josephine Louis Theater, 20 Arts Circle Drive, Northwestern University. The first three main stage productions are presented at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street in Evanston.
