Actors Theatre of Louisville to Open 37th Humana Festival with Sam Mark's THE DELLING SHORE, 2/27

The 37th Humana Festival of New American Plays, made possible by a generous grant from the Humana Foundation, opens with the world premiere of Sam Mark's The Delling Shore, directed by Actors Theatre's associate artistic director Meredith McDonough. The Delling Shore is playing in the Bingham Theatre and begins previews on February 27, opens March 1 and runs through April 7. Tickets are on sale now to the public and can be purchased at the Actors Theatre Box Office by calling 502-584-1205 or online at ActorsTheatre.org. The Delling Shore was developed, in part, with the assistance of the Sundance Institute Theatre Program.

Dave Malloy, Tom & Jack Megan Win 2013 Richard Rodgers Awards

The winners of the 2013 Richard Rodgers Awards for Musical Theater were announced today by the American Academy of Arts and Letters, which administers the Rodgers Awards. The winning musicals are: Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 by Dave Malloy, and The Kid Who Would Be Pope by Tom and Jack Megan. Both shows were awarded studio productions.

A.R.T. and MXAT Institute Present THE FLU SEASON, Opening 2/22

The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater School Institute for Advanced Theater Training continues its 2012-13 Season with Will Eno's The Flu Season, directed by Marcus Stern. The production runs February 22, 23, 27, 28, March 1 and 2 at7:30pm at the Zero Church Street Performance Space, Harvard Square, Cambridge.

THE RADIANT to Debut at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, 2/21-3/4

Marie Curie, the only person, male or female, to win a Nobel Prize in two different scientific fields, a woman who discovered two elements, polonium and radium, and a woman whose personal life was rocked by tragedy and scandal, is the subject of Shirley Lauro's New York premiere drama, The Radiant, beginning previews Thursday, February 21, at 8:00pm for an opening Saturday, February 23, at 8:00pm at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, 344 East 14th Street.

Taylor Mac Stars in The Foundry's GOOD PERSON OF SZECHWAN at La MaMa, Now thru 2/24

Can we practice goodness and create a world to sustain it? This question, posed by Shen Tei, the good-hearted, penniless and cross-dressing prostitute of Bertolt Brecht's Good Person of Szechwan, is central to the work of The Foundry Theatre. The play's concerns, and the earmarks of the Foundry's new production, make it an ideal offering from the company, which is celebrated for creating memorable theatrical events while pursuing civic inquiry and social justice. The show, starring the singular Taylor Mac as Shen Tei, is directed by Lear deBessonet and features original live music by 'indie rock vaudevillians' (SPIN) Cesar Alvarez and The Lisps.

Miami Theater Center Announces Full Casting for THE LOVE OF THREE ORANGES

Miami Theater Center announces the addition of renowned performer Shaneeka Harrell to the cast of its production of The Love of Three Oranges. This colorful, dynamic interpretation of Count Carlo Gozzi's 18th-century tale was adapted by MTC Artistic Director Stephanie Ansin, who also directs this production. The performances, recommended for ages six and up, run from January 30, 2013 to March 10, 2013. All performances take place at MTC, located at 9806 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami Shores, FL 33138. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at mtcmiami.org or at 305-751-9550.

Oberon Theatre Ensemble to Present THE DRAWER BOY, Beginning 3/1

Oberon Theatre Ensemble will kick off its 15th season with the long awaited, New York premiere of Michael Healey's THE DRAWER BOY, directed by Alexander Dinelaris (Playwright: "Red Dog Howls," "Still Life" ) with preview performances beginning March 1 prior to an official press opening on March 5 at the June Havoc Theatre in The Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex (312 W. 36th Street) in Manhattan.

ALL THE RAGE, Directed by Seth Barrish, Begins Off-Broadway Engagement Today

piece by piece productions, Rising Phoenix Repertory, and The Barrow Group have announced that All The Rage, written and performed by Martin Moran, and directed by Seth Barrish, will begin performances today, January 19, at 7pm at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 416 West 42 Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. The opening night has been set for Wednesday, January 30, at 7pm.

Thomas Bradshaw's JOB Premiere Returns to The Flea, Now thru 1/28

After a sold out run and extension, The Flea Theater announces yet another extension of the New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine. A popular and critical success, JOB now will return and play tonight, January 4 through 28.

Aurora Theatre Company Announces 8th Annual Global Age Project Finalists

Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company, along with GAP Producer M. Graham Smith and GAP Associate Producer Deborah Taylor, announces the four plays chosen as finalists by a committee of local directors for the eighth annual Global Age Project (GAP), the company's new works initiative that promotes the creation of forward-looking theater. The selected GAP plays will be presented as staged readings in a four-week festival at the Aurora Theatre, Mondays, February 4-25 at 7:30PM.
