FILM SOCIETY OF LINCOLN CENTER Programmer Robert Koehler Resigns

The Film Society of Lincoln Center today announced the departure of Robert Koehler, and the appointment of critic and programmer Dennis Lim as Director of Cinematheque Programming. Koehler will step down immediately and return to Los Angeles to focus on personal matters and requests that his family's privacy be respected.

RAICES Announces LA LUZ DE UN CIGARILLO Reading, 3/17

RAICES' Voces Latinas reading series will continue on March 17th, 2013 with La Luz De Un Cigarillo: A Dominican-York Play, written by Latino playwright Marco Antonio Rodriguez and directed by WNY actor Rolando Martin Gomez. The reading will be at 6 PM at the Road Less Traveled Theater. Reading will starr Mariana Cole-Rivera, Smirna Mercedes-Perez, Victoria Perez, Josue Rosario-Caliz, and narrated by Ingrid Cordova.

Donna Hoke's SEEDS Debuts with Road Less Traveled Productions Today

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP), dedicated to the development and production of new plays by Western New York (WNY) playwrights, will bring yet another world premiere to fruition in March, when it debuts SEEDS, a new play by RLTP Ensemble Member Donna Hoke. The comedy/drama will open in Downtown Buffalo's Theatre District today, March 1st, 2013 and will star Kelly Jakiel, Diane Curley, Todd Benzin, Diane DiBernardo, and Pamela Rosa Mangus. RLTP Ensemble Member Kristin Tripp Kelley will direct.

TRU to Host 2013 COMBINED AUDITION EVENT, 4/6-7

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces that submissions are open for the TRU 2013 Combined Audition Event, produced by Jaye Maynard and Michelle Slonim, and presented in association with Actors Access, Actors Connection, Modernage/HeadshotRepros.com, People's Improv Theater (The PIT), The Players Theatre, Ripley Grier Studios, Studio 7 Photography, TheaterMania, Wag That Reel and Weist-Barron Studios. Auditions will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, 2013 from 10am-6pm at People's Improv Theater (The PIT), 123 East 24th Street, NYC. Early bird registration is $50 ($40 for AEA and TRU members) before March 5. From March 6 to registration closing on March 25, the fee is $75 ($65 for AEA and TRU members).

Chen Dance Center Presents H.T. Chen & Dancers in A TRIBUTE TO REMY CHARLIP, 2/28 & 3/1-2

As the culminating event of the Lunar New Year, H.T. Chen's Lantern Festival Performances will present A Tribute to Remy Charlip (1929-2012), one of the dance world's best-loved artists, in the intimate teahouse setting of the Chen Dance Center, 70 Mulberry Street, tonight, February 28, March 1 & 2 at 7:30 PM. A pre-show reception, with refreshments, will take place at 7 PM, and the one-hour performance will begin at 7:30 PM.

Lincoln Center Film Society Kicks Off 2013 RENDEZ-VOUS WITH FRENCH CINEMA

The 18th edition of RENDEZ-VOUS WITH FRENCH CINEMA, the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Unifrance Films' celebrated annual showcase of the best in contemporary French film, hits screens at The Film Society, the IFC Center and BAMcinematek, today, February 28 - March 10.

STOKER Director Park Chan-wook Appears at Retrospective Opening at Moving Image Today

Park Chan-wook, the South Korean director best known for his provocative and thrilling Vengeance Trilogy, will be the subject of a retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from today, February 28 through March 3, 2013. The series, which is presented in cooperation with The Korea Society, includes four feature films and three rarely screened short films. It opens with a personal appearance by the director at a preview screening of his latest film, Stoker-his first English language picture-which stars Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman, and is being released by Fox Searchlight Pictures in theaters nationwide on March 1.

Director Harmony Korine to Appear at SPRING BREAKERS Screening for Moving Image Retrospective, 3/12

Director, screenwriter, and artist Harmony Korine has developed an aesthetic as unique and bracing as any that launched in the heyday of 1990s American independent film. Korine made his name as the screenwriter of the nihilistic-teen movie Kids, but came into his own as a director with the 1997 feature debut, Gummo. From March 8 through 22, 2013, Museum of the Moving Image will present a retrospective of all of Korine's five feature films to date, including his latest, Spring Breakers-a triumph at both the Toronto and Venice film festivals.

Ailey II, the youthful and gifted second company of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, returns to its home, The Ailey Citigroup Theater, from March 13- 24 for a highly anticipated two-week season - the first led by recently appointed Artistic Director Troy Powell. Museum of the Moving Image Celebrates Chinese New Year with PUI CHAN: KUNG FU PIONEER Today

Museum of the Moving Image celebrates the Chinese New Year with a special screening and live event devoted to legendary kung fu grandmaster, Pui Chan, one of the martial arts pioneers who introduced traditional Chinese kung fu to the United States. Pui Chan: Kung Fu Pioneer, a new film about Chan, directed by his daughter Mimi Chan, will screen at the Museum today, February 23, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. as part of its Fist and Sword martial arts showcase. Mimi Chan will appear in person at the screening, with special guests who will perform a traditional Chinese lion dance.

American Composers Orchestra Continues COLABORATORY: PLAYING IT UNSAFE Initiative, 3/5-4/5

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) continues its season-long initiative, coLABoratory: Playing It UNsafe, the first and only professional research and development lab to support the creation of cutting-edge new American orchestral music through no-holds-barred experimentation, encouraging composers to do anything but 'play it safe.' Audiences will have the opportunity to see and hear the composers' works-in-progress at free lab workshops on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 10am at Flushing Town Hall (137-35 Northern Blvd., Flushing, NY), and Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 2pm at The DiMenna Center (450 W. 37th St., NYC). coLABoratory culminates on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 7:30pm with a concert featuring all of the new works at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall, conducted by ACO Music Director George Manahan.

STAGE TUBE: Elaine Stritch Celebrates 88th Birthday on THEATER TALK!

THEATER TALK just celebrated the 88th birthday of the great star Elaine Stritch. Also included in the episode were music director Rob Bowman, and actor Hunter Ryan Herdlicka who appeared with Stritch in 'A Little Night Music' on Broadway. In a freewheeling conversation, Stritch reminisces fondly about a number of people and things of significance including Stephen Sondheim, Bela Lugosi, and the gift basket that Alec Baldwin sent her after she injured her hip. The National Black Touring Circuit's 2013 Black History Month Play Festival presents Dr. DuBois and Miss Ovington, a drama about the early years of the NAACP written by Clare Coss and co-starring Peter Jay Fernandez as W.E.B. The Milkshake Trio Performs Family Concert at The Jewish Museum, 3/3

The Milkshake Trio, the groundbreaking band for kids and grownups, celebrating the release of their fifth CD, Got a Minute?, is performing a family concert on Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 pm at The Jewish Museum. In this show for kids ages 2 to 7, the band will play old favorites like 'Baseball' (where the trio plays a mini-ball game with the audience), 'Fingers & Toes' (in which band member Michael 'Shepp' Sheppard tries out his French), and 'Bottle of Sunshine' (featuring the Milkshake Bottle of Sunshine), along with an array of new songs from Got a Minute? Known for an energetic pop-rock style, the Milkshake Trio's musical influences range from Julie Andrews and The Beatles to The White Stripes and Bo Diddley. The trio also includes the founders of Milkshake, Lisa Mathews and Mikel Gehl.

Paul Taylor Dance Company Returns to the David H. Koch Theater, 3/5

The Paul Taylor Dance Company returns to the David H. Koch Theater for its 2013 New York Season from March 5th through the 24th following a record-shattering inaugural Season at Lincoln Center in 2012. The Season celebrates Paul Taylor's masterworks spanning seven decades, from the 1950s through today.

Arthur Schnitzler's FLIRTATION Begins at Marvell Rep Tonight

Previews for FLIRTATION, the third play in Marvell Rep's 'Desire and Delusion' winter repertory project, begin tonight at TBG Theatre. The romantic drama by Arthur Schnitzler - the same source material that inspired Max Ophuls' film version, LIEBELEI, which screens at Film Forum in early March - is part of Marvell Rep's three-show repertory exploring the themes of 'desire and delusion' in fin de siecle Vienna. FLIRTATION runs in repertory with NIGHT GAMES, a world premiere based on a Schnitzler novella, and SECRETS, a play about the relationship between Jung and Freud, who called Schnitzler his 'psychic twin,' through March 17. The official opening is Monday, February 25, at 8 p.m. Lenny Leibowitz, Marvell Rep's artistic director, directed the production using the translation by Carl R. Mueller.
