Playwrights Horizons Now Accepting Lottery Entries for FAMILIAR's First Preview

  Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, February 3, for the LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to their New York premiere of FAMILIAR, a new play by Obie Award winner Danai Gurira (the Broadway-bound Eclipsed, In the Continuum, The Convert, Michonne on AMC's "The Walking Dead").  Directed by Rebecca Taichman (Stage Kiss, Milk Like Sugar at PH; The Oldest Boy; Marie Antoinette; Luck of the Irish; Orlando), the play is the fourth production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.   

Green, Musto and Pacheco to Join THEATER TALK for Spring Preview This Week

Theater critic Jesse Green (New York Magazine) and theater journalists Michael Musto (Out.com) and Patrick Pacheco (NY1 News) join co-hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins for the annual Spring Season Preview of upcoming Broadway and Off-Broadway productions on an all-new THEATER TALK.

Kitchen Theatre Company to Display New Exhibit by Sally Ryan

 Kitchen Theatre Company is pleased to announce that an exhibition of paintings by Sally Ryan, 'OPEN DOORS,' is on display in the Judith Holliday Lobby Gallery at 417 West MLK/State Street. The opening reception is on Friday, February 5 from 5:30-7:00pm.

Lisa Hansen and Eddie Venegas to Join North/South Chamber Orchestra on Valentine's Day

The North/South Chamber Orchestra continues its series of free-admission concerts on Sunday afternoon February 14, 2016. Flutist Lisa Hansen and trombonist Eddie Venegas will join conductor Max Lifchitz and the Grammy nominated ensemble for an eclectic program featuring first performances of action-packed works by Joel Feigin and Eddie Venegas as well as two other invigorating pieces performed previously penned by Max Lifchitz and Robert Martin.

The Kitchen to Present Andrew Ondrejcak's ELIJAH GREEN

The Kitchen is pleased to present the world premiere of ELIJAH GREEN by Andrew Ondrejcak, a multi-disciplinary artist with a dual career as a writer, director, and designer of theater-based performance works in addition to being a sought-after art director in the fashion industry. His work in both fields is meticulous, wildly imaginative, and laced with deep curiosity. Most recently, Ondrejcak premiered You Us We All, a collaboration with My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden, at the 2015 BAM Next Wave Festival. Critic Helen Shaw highlighted the work as one of the ten best shows of 2015.

Announcing the Co-Directors of OpenICE and Launching the Second Season

With the launch of the second season of OpenICE, a multi-year program to engage new listeners for contemporary music through an outpouring of programming that is free and open to the public, the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) announces the appointment of Ryan Muncy (ICE saxophonist) and Alice Teyssier (ICE flutist/vocalist) as the new Co-Directors of OpenICE.
