Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon. Summer is here, which means only one thing: Shakespeare Dallas is kicking off another season of Shakespeare in the Park. The 2015 season features two favorite plays written by Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet and King Lear, as well as The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged) [revised] written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield. The performances will take place at the Samuell Grand Amphitheatre, 1500 Tenison Parkway in Dallas and at the Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle, in Addison.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Tammy Blanchard, Patrick Breen, John Benjamin Hickey, Alex Hurt, Kellie Overbey, John Pankow, and Stephen Plunkett will comprise the cast of its upcoming production of DADA WOOF PAPA HOT, a new play by Peter Parnell, to be directed by Scott Ellis. The Public Theater will begin previews for the MOBILE SHAKESPEARE UNIT production of MACBETH on Sunday, May 17. Directed by Edward Torres, MACBETH follows a three-week tour, bringing free Shakespeare to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts. The production will run at The Public Theater through Sunday, June 7 with an official press opening on Wednesday, May 20. All tickets are $20.

Mayor de Blasio today appointed Lin-Manuel Miranda and Daryl Roth and reappointed George C. Wolfe to the Theater Subdistrict Council. As members of the Theater Subdistrict Council, they will be responsible for administering the Theater Subdistrict Fund and allocating grants with the goal of promoting the production of new theater work, developing new audiences, and showcasing Broadway's role in the history of American theater. Through its grants, the TSC has supported 37 theater education, audience development and accessibility programs as well as new theatrical works.
