'night Mother Starts Season at Alliance Theatre Lab

Winner of the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, ‘night, Mother takes a deep look into a mother-daughter relationship while making a disturbing statement about responsibility and courage. In this 90 minute harrowing story, the character's interactions culminate into a disturbing, yet unavoidable, climax.

(www.UnsungMusicals.org) announces its first annual benefit concert featuring the world premiere of Nothing is Forever, a new musical with music by Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award winner Morton Gould (Stringmusic, Billion Dollar Baby) and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award nominee Carolyn Leigh (Peter Pan, Little Me, 'Witchcraft').

ENNIO: The Living Paper Cartoon Returns to New York for NYMF

ENNIO: The Living Paper Cartoon, returns to New York for the first time in over a decade. For nine performances only, September 27th - October 12th, The New York Musical Theatre Festival presents the Jonathan Reinis (two-time Tony Award-winner for Dame Edna: The Royal Tour and Russell Simmon's Def Poetry Jam) and Glynis Henderson (international producer of Stomp) production featuring international sensation Ennio Marchetto at the 47th Street Theatre (304 West 47th Street). NYMF Welcomes DATE OF A LIFETIME, Begins October 3

Jenn Colella to Lead KIKI BABY at NYMF, 10/5-16

The New York Musical Theatre Festival in association with Jeffery & Elizabeth Passero are pleased to announce the production of KIKI BABY, directed by Lonny Price and Matt Cowart. KIKI BABY will play six performances at the Theatre at St. Clements (423 West 46th Street, between 9TH & 10TH Avenues). Performances begin Wednesday, October 5th and continue through Sunday, October 16th.

Matt Cavenaugh, Jenny Powers to Take Part in GATSBY Concert at NYMF, 9/30

Rachel York, Michael Hayden Set for GHOSTLIGHT at NYMF

Tony Award Nominee Michael Hayden (Carousel, Judgment at Nuremburg, 'Murder One') and Drama Desk Award winner Rachel York (Victor/Victoria, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) will star in the new musical Ghostlight, which will open on September 26th as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. According to press notes 'Ghostlight excavates the true story of Olive Thomas, a small-town girl who rises to headline alongside Fanny Brice in the Ziegfeld Follies. Seduced by the decadent world of the theatre, Olive stumbles into a secret affair, an unfulfilling Hollywood marriage, and a downward spiral into drugs and alcohol. An homage to Broadway's Golden Age, Ghostlight captures the glamorous and tragic lives of those who changed the face of the American musical forever.' Hayden will play legendary showman Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. with York as Billie Burke, his scorned wife, who was most famous for portraying Glinda in The Wizard of Oz.

Cardenas, Rua et al. Lead Old Globe's SOMEWHERE this Fall

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Somewhere, a new play by Old Globe Playwright-in-Residence Matthew Lopez. Lopez's play The Whipping Man was a critical success in New York last season after receiving its West Coast Premiere at the Globe in a production directed by Giovanna Sardelli. Sardelli returns to direct Somewhere, which will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 24 - Oct. 30. Preview performances run Sept. 24 - Sept. 28. Opening night is Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets will go on sale on Sunday, Sept. 4.
