Simon Callow to Bring THE MAN JESUS on UK Tour from 10 Sept

Ros Povey, Zoe Simpson and Seabright Productions present Simon Callow in the Lyric Theatre Belfast production of The Man Jesus by Matthew Hurt. Directed by Joseph Alford, the upcoming UK tour runs 10th September - 4th November 2014 with a stop at the Wset End's Lyric, Shaftesbury Avenue on 6th October 2014.

Bryce Ryness, Janet Krupin, Jeremiah Ginn and Charlotte Maltby Join NYMF's MEETING OUR HEROES, 7/7

THE NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL has announced the performers for their special opening night launch event "MEETING OUR HEROES: A Tribute to the Composers Who Inspire Us" at The Laurie Beechman Theater at The West Bank Cafe (407 West 42nd Street) on Monday, July 7 at 7:00 PM. Jeremiah Ginn (Murder for Two), Janet Krupin (If/Then, Bring It On: The Musical), Charlotte Maltby (Les Miserables at the Muny) and Bryce Ryness (Fly By Night, First Date, Hair), will help four emerging songwriters celebrate four of musical theater's most celebrated composers. An intimate, history-making night of songs and stories, this one-night-only concert opens NYMF with music from established and new writers alike and honors the individuals who have made an indelible mark on the musical theater community.

Pop Singer Sariah to Appear in NYMF's ZOMBIE STRIPPERS THE MUSICAL, 7/21-26

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Spectre Productions, LLC will present the new Pop Musical, ZOMBIE STRIPPERS, featuring Billboard chart-topping pop singer Sariah ('Deep N Luv'), July 21 at 3PM, July 25 at 9PM & July 26 at 1PM, at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd St. ZOMBIE STRIPPERS is directed by Diane Englert with book, Lyrics and music by Mark LaPierre.

Tim Realbuto to Appear on Fox 5's GOOD DAY NEW YORK STREET TALK & More to Promote 7/24 54 Below Show

Award winning writer/performer Tim Realbuto will be guest on several upcoming television shows to promote his star-studded (not-so-solo) solo show at 54 Below, which is entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help) and will tell the story of his life growing up in show business with hilarity and poignancy. He's enlisted the help of some top stars to play characters in his life, voices in his head, and sometimes (when things get too tough), they will even play Tim himself.

BWW Jr: Autism Friendly Performances at NYMF

This month, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) is teaming up wiht the Theatre Development Fund's Autism Theatre Initiative (ATI) to launch its first ever autism friendly series for kids. The shows will be performed in a supportive environment for an audience of families and friends with children or adults who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or other sensitivity issues. Slight adjustments to the production may be made, including reduction of any jarring sounds or light cues. The theatre lobby will have a quiet/activity area, staffed with autism specialists, for those who need to leave their seats during the performance. Social narratives and pictures of the theares and productions designed to personalize the experience for each attendee with ASD will be available for download in advance of the performances.

'Days of Our Lives' star Kevin Spirtas leads a cast of 13 in the new musical comedy MR. CONFIDENTIAL, presented as part of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Directed and choreographed by Stephen Nachamie (director of NYMF's award-winning 2012 production of Foreverman), MR. CONFIDENTIAL features book and lyrics by Samuel Bernstein (Bobbie's Girl) and music by David Snyder. The production plays five performances July 21-27 at theAlice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W. 42nd St.), as part of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Eryn Murman, Jason Hite and Their Band 5j Barrow are the Winners of WNYC's Final Ultimate Battle of The Boroughs

Actors by day and Folk-Rock Stars by night.. Eryn Murman and Jason Hite's Band 5j Barrow just became the official Winners of the WNYC's Ultimate Battle of the Boroughs. Hundreds of musical acts entered the competition and 5j Barrow went on to win the Manhattan battle a few months ago at The Greenespace. The final battle was held on Friday, June 27th against the other borough winners and 5j BARROW took the crown to become WNYC's # 1, 2014 Ultimate Battle Winners of NYC!

Dare to Defy Productions to Present ALTAR BOYZ,

Altar Boyz introduces a struggling Christian boy band from Greenville, Ohio, who are on the last night of their 'Raise the Praise' U.S. tour and determined to make the big time. The Boyz - Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham (he's Jewish) - are intent on saving souls and raising spirits.

Hannah Elless and More Set for NYMF Readings of New Musical FOR TONIGHT, 7/9 & 7/12

For Tonight, a new original musical, by creators Shenelle Williams, Spencer Williams and Whitney Rhodes is headed to New York City to participate in The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) as a developmental reading. For Tonight's story is inspired by the life of the writer's great-great-great-grandfather in the 1830's in Northern Wales/Liverpool. With its indie-rock inspired score and a completely original book, this story focuses on the universal themes of love, family and acceptance. The show will have three performances at The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row in July 2014.

MANUEL VERSUS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY Set for NYMF, 7/10 & 13

One immigrant's true story was so ridiculous, it inspired playwright Noemi de la Puente to turn it into a musical comedy. "Manuel versus The Statue of Liberty" will be included in The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) this July. The musical, which features music by Howard Post with book and lyrics by Noemi de la Puente, will be presented as a developmental reading at The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 W. 42nd St. in New York, July 10 at 4pm and 8pm and July 13 at 3pm. Admission is free.
