NYMF's FABLE Comes to 54 Below Tonight

NYMF's most popular presentation, FABLE will play at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center Tuesday, July 22 through Sunday, July 27. NYMF has begun adding performances. Today, July 24 at 5:00pm is the first; Sunday, July 27 at 1:00pm is the second; with more to follow. Composer/Lyricist Christopher Anselmo has been selected as a participant in the prestigious 2014 NYMF/ASCAP Musical Songwriting Workshop, which runs in New York from Monday, July 14 through Sunday, July 20. Mr. Anselmo and Mr. Kaufman (Book) have been scooped up by 54 Below (254 West 54 Street) where they will perform their FRIENDSHIP, FABLES AND FUN: A NIGHT WITH CHRIS AND HARRISON for one night only - Today, July 17 at 11:30pm.

MOTHER JONES, with Lynne Wintersteller and Robin De Jesús, Opens at NYMF

MOTHER JONES AND THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE - presented by The New York Musical Theatre Festival, Crystal Theatre and Benjamin Simpson - has extended its run with an additional performance on Saturday, July 26 at 2:00 PM. The dramatic new musical inspired by the true story of the trailblazing labor organizer, which already has a sold out performance, will now run from tonight, July 17 to 26, 2014.

OPRAHFICATION Makes US Premiere at NYMF, Now thru 7/24

Adam Lowe Theatrical and New York Musical Theatre Festival will present the US premiere of the Australian hit musical, Oprahfication. Oprahfication is written by and stars awarding winning performer Rachel Dunham with an original score by Shanon D. Whitelock and directed by Dirk Hoult. Beginning performances tonight, July 17, the show will run through July 24 at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).

Broadway Legend Joy Franz Completes Cast of TIM REALBUTO: ALONE (WITH PLENTY OF HELP), 7/24

Broadway legend Joy Franz, who starred in the original and revival companies of Into the Woods on Broadway, is the final cast member to join Tim Realbuto's July 24th star-studded 54 Below show entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help). Throughout the evening, each guest star will play a different person in Tim's life. Franz will play Tim's mother.

"Sing Me Home" is a new musical set to premiere at the prestigious New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) on July 20th but Los Angeles had the honor of hosting its debut at Rockwell on Sunday, July 13th. Featuring a variety of performers, each song was introduced by writing team, Amber Cassell or author/singer/songwriter Kristy Hanson who penned all 13 songs.

The Dirty Blondes to Make FringeNYC Debut with THE TUNNEL PLAY, 8/9-21

The Dirty Blondes, a feminist theater company with a taste for provocation, present this brand new play -- THE TUNNEL PLAY -- by playwright and Artistic Director Ashley Jacobson, directed by Courtney Laine Self, in their first ever production in the New York International Fringe Festival.

Lillias White, Amber Iman & More Star in NYMF Musical About Harriet Tubman Today

A reading of Harriet, a musical based on the life of Harriet Tubman, will be presented today, July 16, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Sunday, July 20 at 12 p.m. in The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street (between 9th Avenue & Dyer Avenue). Harriet is an official selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

NYMF's WIKIMUSICAL Adds Another 7/20 Performance at PTC Performance Space

WikiMusical with a Book and Lyrics by Frank Ceruzzi & Blake J. Harris; Music by Trent Jeffords is being presented at the New York Musical Theatre Festival with performances at PTC Performance Space (Pearl Theatre Company), 555 West 42nd Street, NYC. A second additional performance has been added for this Sunday 7/20 at 4pm. Performances begin this weekend: Friday, July 18 at 8pm; Saturday, July 19 at 5pm; Sunday, July 20 4pm (2nd added show) & at 8pm; and the first added show on Tuesday, July 22nd at 1pm; Tuesday, July 22 at 5pm; and Saturday, July 26 at 9pm.

FOR TONIGHT to Play Special Concert at NYMF, 7/18

For Tonight, by creators Shenelle Williams, Spencer Williams and Whitney Rhodes, has extended its run at The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF). This will be the first time in the history of the festival that a reading will add an additional performance to its run. They will be performing a concert version of this new original musical on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 9pm at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036).

Azudi Onyejekwe and Rodrick Covington to Star in THE SONGS OF CENTRAL AVENUE BREAKDOWN Concert at NYMF, 7/22

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Moldy Fig Productions, LCC present THE SONGS OF CENTRAL AVENUE BREAKDOWN, a one night only concert event. With Book by Kevin Ray, Andrea Lepcio & Dominic Taylor; Music and Lyrics by Kevin Ray; and Additional Story by Suellen Vance, the concert will be directed by Lee Summers and is set for Tuesday, July 22nd at 8 p.m. at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street.
