Broadway veterans Sean McDermott and Sarah Litzsinger join a cast of seasoned performers in The New York Musical Theatre Festival's (NYMF) The Music Box, An Evening of Lady Composers tonight, July 23. Performances will take place at 6 and 9 PM at the Ford Foundation Studio Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

The 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presents Propaganda! The Musical a world premiere musical Book, Music, and Lyrics by Taylor Ferrera & Matt Webster. Nathan Brewer directs a cast of 10, including MaryJoanna Grisso (Nat. Tour: West Side Story), Nick Mason, Kenita Miller* (Bway: Xanadu, The Color Purple), Kenny Morris* (Bway: Hairspray, Les Miserables), Benjiman Dallas Redding (Nat. Tour: West Side Story), Shaun Repito (Nat. Tour: West Side Story), Dale Sampson*, Beth Cheryl Tarnow*, and Jillian Wallach (Nat. Tour: Legally Blonde). Propaganda! The Musical is being staged at PTC Performance Space, 555 West 42nd Street (bet. 9th & 10th Avenues) in NYC for five performances from Today, July 23 through Sunday, July 27, 2014.

It is my pleasure to speak to Long Island playwrights Karl Hinze and Becky Goldberg. They have a wonderful new show reading at The New York Musical Theatre Festival and were kind enough to take time to speak with me today!

Former president and first lady Bill and Hillary Clinton will be the subject of a new musical which will make its U.S. debut as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. The show will be performed for one week beginning in mid-July.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Moldy Fig Productions, LCC present THE SONGS OF CENTRAL AVENUE BREAKDOWN, a one night only concert event. Chicago Fire's Monica Raymund of Sisu Theatrical Productions, LLC, Jacob Harvey of Cave 76 Productions, LLC and Jordi Coats present a cabaret-style concert of VOLLEYGIRLS, which will include tunes from the breakout hit from the 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival, as well as, revisit some old fan favorites from earlier incarnations. It's your classic story: Boy-meets-alien, boy-loses-alien, boy-gets-alien, and everyone sings-and-dances. Billed as an intergalactic musical, 'It Happened in Roswell' is set on the site of a flying saucer landing at Roswell, New Mexico on July 3, 1949. This new musical will have a limited run this August at the NoHo Arts Center.

6 - a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Zack Zadek (additional lyrics by Gina DePalo), will receive its European premiere at the Space on North Bridge, Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014 with previews at London Theatre Workshop 27th - 28th July. Zack is one of America's youngest and most promising composers having 6 - a new musical selected by New York Musical Theatre Festival and featured in 2012. He was soon after invited to perform a solo concert at NYCs famous Joe's Pub. In January 2014 TwentySomething produced Zack's UK debut concert featuring some of London's finest voices.

t, by creators Shenelle Williams, Spencer Williams and Whitney Rhodes, has extended its run at The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF). This will be the first time in the history of the festival that a reading will add an additional performance to its run. They will be performing a concert version of this new original musical tonight, July 18, 2014 at 9pm at Ford Foundation Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036).

Abingdon Theatre Company -- which has produced 83 new plays in its 21-year history -- launches its 2014-2015 Season with three new plays, beginning this fall with IT HAS TO BE YOU by Drama Desk nominee Catherine Butterfield (JOINED AT THE HEAD), set to begin previews October 3, at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). MOTHER JONES AND THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE - presented by The New York Musical Theatre Festival, Crystal Theatre and Benjamin Simpson - has announced a second extension to its run with an additional performance on Friday, July 25 at 5:00 PM. The dramatic new musical inspired by the true story of the trailblazing labor organizer, which already has a sold out performance, will run from July 17 to 26, 2014. The show has book, music and lyrics by Cheryl E. Kemeny (co-founder of Crystal Theatre) and stars Lynne Wintersteller (A Grand Night For Singing and Annie on Broadway) and Robin De Jesus (two time Tony Award nominee). MOTHER JONES AND THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE is directed by Michelle Tattenbaum (Nobody Loves You at The Old Globe and Second Stage), choreographed by Clare Cook with music direction by Micah Young (Best Music Director, NYMF 2013). The show is an Official Selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival's Next Link Project.

After a sold out performance last year, Twenty-Somethings 2, an evening featuring the work of songwriters Drew Overcash, Blake Pfeil, and Zoe Sarnak, will be presented on Aug. 18 at 8PM at The Highline Ballroom.

Today in 2008, [title of show] opened at the Lyceum Theatre, where it ran for 102 performances. [title of show] is a one-act musical, with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell. The show chronicles its own creation as an entry in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and follows the struggles of the author and composer/lyricist and their two actress friends during the initial brief (three-week) creative period, along with subsequent events leading up to the show's production. Writer/stars Bowen and Bell, as well as director Michael Berresse all won Obie Awards for their work on the off-Broadway production, and Bell was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical.

Set in the present day on the porch of a swamp house in Mississippi, BAYONETS OF ANGST introduces audiences to a handful of old codgers who are partaking in their annual reunion. In fact, this is their 149th gathering, and each year the shrinking group gets together to relive their experiences during the American Civil War. As an audience, we are told to forget what we learned in history because these men were there. Over the next two hours, we are treated to a dizzying array of madcap, behind-the-scenes hilarity that turns history on its head.
