Players Theater Opens GAY CAMP This Friday

Following its sold-out run as part of the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival, Gay Camp will move its production to The Players Theatre for an extension beginning September 21, 2012.

PIECES Concludes Run as Part of Fringe NYC Encore Series

Tonight, Monday 9/17 is the final performance for the Revolve Productions presentation of "PIECES" by Chris Phillips winner of an "EXCELLENCE IN PLAYWRITING" Award, for the 16th New York International Fringe Festival. The acclaimed play was named an early selection for this FringeNYC Encore Series. It was one of the four shows that were selected for the early announcement during the Festival, by a group of seven theatre producers led by Darren Lee Cole. The Encore performances are at the historic SoHo Playhouse at 15 Vandam Street (bet 6th Ave & Varick), NYC. Brian Zimmer directs the thought provoking drama.

PIECES Ends Return Engagement at SoHo Playhouse, 9/16 - 9/17

Final performances for thewho Revolve Productions presentation of PIECES by Chris Phillips won an "EXCELLENCE IN PLAYWRITING" Award, at the close of the 16th New York International Fringe Festival. The acclaimed play was named an early selection for the FringeNYC Encore Series. The special Encore performances remaining are Sunday September 16th at 8:00pm and Monday September 17th at 8:00pm.

Vassar College Presents TRUTH VALUES Tonight, 9/14

Vassar's Mathematics Department in cooperation with the Drama Department presents one performance only of the award-winning hit solo show, Truth Values. One Girl's Romp Through M.I.T.'s Male Math Maze, tonight, September 14, at 7:00pm in the Martel Theater of the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film. Free and open to the public, Truth Values, a project of Unexpected Theater, is written and performed by Gioia De Cari and directed by Miriam Eusebio. A panel discussion with De Cari and Vassar women science faculty will follow the performance. For reservations, email boxoffice@vassar.edu or call (845) 437-5599.

Gary Negbaur Presents DIGGIN' THE BEATLES at Metropolitan Room, Now thru 9/30

Following a sold-out run in January, pianist/singer/songwriter Gary Negbaur returns to Metropolitan Room for four Sunday nights, tonight, September 9 and September 16, 23 & 30 at 7pm, with his highly acclaimed show DIGGIN' THE BEATLES. Accompanying Negbaur for this innovative interpretation of the Beatles songbook will be his quartet, guitarist David Phelps, bassist Ritt Henn & drummer Nat Seeley.

STANDBY - THE MUSICAL Runs Now thru 9/30 as Part of FringeNYC Encore Series

Alfred Solis and Keith Robinson have announced that STANDBY - The Musical has been extended as part of the 2012 FringeNYC Encore Series, featuring the best shows from the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival. STANDBY will have five performances: 9/7@7:30PM, 9/14@7:30PM, 9/20@7:30PM, 9/27@7:30PM, 9/29@7:30 PM at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal St. New York, NY 10012.

FringeNYC Encore Series Launches Today, Runs thru 9/30

Now in its 7th year, the FringeNYC Encore Series gives theatre lovers another chance at seeing some of the most critically acclaimed and most crowd-pleasing shows from the Festival. Beginning today, September 7th, the FringeNYC Encore Series will present about a dozen works in rotating repertory at SoHo Playhouse and The Huron Club (both located at 15 Vandam Street between 6th Avenue & Varick). Horizon Theatre Rep Presents THE BALCONY, 10/11 - 11/4

Genet's menacing and hilarious world of political intrigue, violent revolution and distorted eroticism is measured against the mass-media manipulation of today. THE BALCONY will run from October 11 to November 4 at The Arclight Theatre located at 152 West 71st Street. It will be presented by Horizon Theatre Rep. Showtimes are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 3:00 pm.

Pigpen Theatre Co. to Release 'Bremen' Album, 10/9

On October 9 the seven members of the critically acclaimed theater troupe PigPen Theatre Co.-the only company to win top honors at the New York International Fringe Festival two years in a row-release their first album, Bremen, to the general public. First released in April to friends and supporters of the company, the album is a collection of standalone original indie-folk compositions that bear the group's signature storytelling voice and acoustic instrumentations by each of its members. In support of the release, the group will play a series of shows at NYC's Joe's Pub beginning October 15. See reverse for full album and show details.

CANON IN D MINOR Joins Fringe Encores Series

CANON IN D MINOR has been selected for the Fringe Encores Series following its New York premiere in the New York International Fringe Festival. Out of the 187 productions in this year's festival, CANON IN D MINOR is one of just 19 chosen for the series. The production will run at SoHo Playhouse for an additional five performances beginning Sept 15th.

Profiles Theatre Continues 24th Season With the Midwest Premiere of AFTER, Opening Tonight, 9/5

Profiles Theatre announces the Midwest premiere of After by Chad Beckim, the second show of the company's 2012-2013 season. After, directed by guest artist Matt Hawkins, runs August 31-October 14, 2012, with the press opening tonight, September 5, 2012, at 8:00 pm. Performances are held at Profiles original venue, The Alley Stage, 4147 N. Broadway.

PigPen Theatre Co. to Hold Concert Series at Joe's Pub Beginning 10/15

Beginning October 15, critically acclaimed theater troupe PigPen Theatre Co. will celebrate its move to New York City and re-release of the debut album Bremen with a series of concerts at Joe's Pub.
