FRIGID New York presents A Nefarious Laboratory production, THE GOSPEL OF SHERILYN FENN, written and performed by Brad Lawrence and directed by Cyndi Freeman.

The Old Globe presents the Third Annual New Voices Festival, featuring readings of new American plays by professional playwrights this weekend, January 15 - 17, 2016.

Fresh from a highly-acclaimed run at Edinburgh Fringe 2015, WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT by Rebecca Crookshank is back with gusto, following an amazing four nominations in the BroadwayWorld Awards. The show will embark on a UK tour from February to May 2016, directed by Jessica Beck.

THE OFFENDING GESTURE -- a play by Mac Wellman -- will be given its world premiere by The Tank (a non-profit arts presenter and producer) this winter, opening tonight, January 9, at The Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street).

'JUPITER (a play about power)' by Superhero Clubhouse and Kaimera Productions is an argument of soaring irony and logic between humanity and a dude with one-time magic who has made all fossil fuels disappear permanently from the Earth. That's not such an unbelievable premise, when you think about it, because in terms of our global history, we are on the brink of an energy systems overhaul. Some 'man at the switch' could at any time begin shutting our industrial civilization down. Oh, we'll be indignant then. Now imagine a philosophical debate between this overlord and a woman who represents all of humankind. That is the one-act 'dream play' that will be offered to us by playwright Jeremy Pickard, director Simon Adinia Hanukai and musician/energy policy specialist Jonathan Camuzeaux, presented by La Mama from February 11-28, 2016.

The Old Globe today announced it will present the Third Annual New Voices Festival, a weekend of readings of new American plays by professional playwrights, January 15 - 17, 2016.

This January, Pipeline Theatre Company presents seven never before seen plays written by its PlayLab Class of 2016 in this year's Matchstick Series: Strange Tongues at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe (236 E. 3rd St, New York, NY). This year's PlayLab includes: Matthew Barbot, Jen Browne, Gina Femia, Reina Hardy, Jacob Marx Rice, Callan Stout, and Amy E. Witting. Performances will be January 13-15th at 7PM. Early bird tickets ($15) are now on sale and regular tickets ($18) go on sale on January 1st. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.pipelinetheatre.org/tickets. The show runs approximately 75 minutes, with no intermission.  

The New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist and Emmy Award nominated writer Rolin Jones and Tony Award nominee and Grammy Award winning Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong's new play with music THESE PAPER BULLETS!, directed by Jackson Gay, opens tonight, December 15, at Atlantic Theater Company.

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary August 12 - 28, 2016. Each year the festival presents programming by nearly 200 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies. General FringeNYC applications for 2016 are currently being accepted for participants in all genres (theatre, dance, puppetry, performance art, multi-media, etc.).

The creators of the hit comedy show GAY CAMP are returning with a one-night-only cabaret titled THE GAY CAMP CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, playing at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre tonight, December 11 at 7pm.

The Old Globe will present WHEN IT COMES with free public workshop presentations, marking the culmination of Mike Sears's 2015 San Diego Foundation Creative Catalyst Grant. Inspired by writer Sears's real-life experiences, the piece was developed in collaboration with a team of local artists: four San Diego actors, puppetry by Animal Cracker Conspiracy (Iain Gunn and Bridget Rountree), music by Clinton Davis, and direction by Sears's wife, Lisa Berger.

 KICK, a darkly comic solo play written and performed by Joanna Rush, will end its limited engagement at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, NYC, on Sunday, December 13th, 2015.

ETM Productions will release its cast recording of Non-Equity The Musical! from writers Danielle Trzcinski and Paul D Mills. The album will be available on itunes and Spotify December 11th 2015.

No Name Comedy/Variety Show producer Eric Vetter brings New York's best established and emerging authors and storytellers to the Word Up Community Bookshop in Washington Heights tonight, December 1, 2015 at 7:00pm, for its monthly series 'No Name @Word Up Super Storytellers Edition.'
