Lyric Opera Closes '09-'10 Season With DON GIOVANNI 4/24-5/2

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City closes the 2009-2010 season with Mozart's most famous opera, Don Giovanni, April 24, 28, 30 and May 2 at the Lyric Theatre. This production of Don Giovanni features an incredible cast of singers as well as an exceptional orchestra comprised of members of the Kansas City Symphony conducted by Lyric Opera Artistic Director Ward Holmquist.

Szot Returns to SOUTH PACIFIC, 3/31

Opera baritone Paulo Szot returns to the role of Emile de Becque in Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, this Wednesday (March 31) fresh from his triumphant Metropolitan Opera debut in their new production of Shostakovich's The Nose.

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM Closes at Reprise Theatre, 3/28

Reprise Theatre Company's production of 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,' 1962's Tony-Award-winning Best Musical, will play its final performance on March 28 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Directed by David Lee, the production's book is by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Chicago Opera Theater Announces Their 2011 Spring Festival Season

On March 25, 2010, General Director Brian Dickie announced Chicago Opera Theater's (COT) 2011 Spring Festival Season: the Midwest Premiere of Tod Machover's Death and the Powers, the Chicago Premiere of Marc-Antoine Charpentier's Medea (Médée), and 'HE/SHE' featuring Leoš Janá?ek's The Diary of One Who Disappeared (Zápisník zmizelého) and Robert Schumann's A Woman's Love and Life (Frauenliebe und Leben).

Kennedy Center Announces Additional Casting for MASTER CLASS

The Kennedy Center today announced additional casting for Terrence McNally's Master Class. Joining the previously announced Tyne Daly as Maria Callas is Jeremy Cohen as Manny, Laquita Mitchell as Second Soprano (Sharon), Ta'u Pupu'a as Tenor (Tony), and Alexandra Silber as First Soprano (Sophie).

LA TRAVIATA Returns Starring Angela Gheorghiu, Closes 4/24

Verdi's La Traviata returns to the Met with Angela Gheorghiu reprising her acclaimed interpretation of Violetta, a role the New York Times called a 'supercharged star turn' when she performed it in 2006.

Yale Rep Presents BATTLE OF BLACK AND DOGS, Opens 4/22

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) presents BATTLE OF BLACK AND DOGS by Bernard-Marie Koltès, translated by Michaël Attias, and directed by Robert Woodruff, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street, at York), April 16-May 8. Opening Night is Thursday, April 22.

Edward Watts is FANTASTICKS' New El Gallo, 3/22

Edward Watts, most recently seen on Broadway in Finian's Rainbow, will assume the role of El Gallo in The Fantasticks, the world's longest-running musical, on Monday, March 22, 2010. He replaces Lewis Cleale, who played his final performance on March 14.

Marge Rivingston Holds Book Signing & Mini Master Class, 3/21

David Pittsinger Ends Return Engagement in SOUTH PACIFIC as Emile de Becque, 3/21

Bass-Baritone David Pittsinger will end his stint as Emile de Becque on March 21st in Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, after a seven week run. The production's original Emile de Becque, baritone Paulo Szot, returns to South Pacific on March 30, 2010.

NY Choral Society Presents Mozart's Requiem & Bernstein's Chichester Psalms at Carnegie Hall, 5/1

The New York Choral Society closes its 51st season with a performance of Mozart's Requiem, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, and James DeMars' Tito's Say, on May 1, 2010 at Carnegie Hall, 8:00 PM. The esteemed chorus performs with the Brooklyn Philharmonic under the baton of NYCS Music Director John Daly Goodwin, alongside soloists Joyce El Khoury, soprano, Elizabeth Batton, mezzo-soprano, Michele Angelini, tenor, and Daniel Mobbs, bass-baritone.

American Opera Projects Presents Staged Reading of PAUL'S CASE, 3/20
