The national tour of the Broadway musical Hamilton will play in Charlotte as part of the 2017-2018 PNC Broadway Lights season, it was announced today by producer Jeffrey Seller and Blumenthal Performing Arts.

Ghostlight Records has released the original cast recording of Bright Star, the new musical from Grammy and Emmy Award winner Steve Martin and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Edie Brickell online and in stores today, Friday, May 27.

Producer Stacey Mindich has announced today that the new musical Dear Evan Hansen will begin performances on Broadway in November 2016 at a Shubert theater to-be-announced.

Signature Theatre presents the world premiere of DAPHNE'S DIVE, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes (Water by the Spoonful, In the Heights) and directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Fox's 'Grease: Live'). Second Stage Theatre's critically acclaimed musical, DEAR EVAN HANSEN, is currently enjoying a sold out run that comes to an Off-Broadway end on Sunday, May 29th. The show has been rumored for a transfer since it opened to rave reviews, a move confirmed today by the show's lead producer Stacey Mindich, speaking today at a Syracuse University graduation ceremony.

As we reported earlier this week, the national tour of HAMILTON will be included in the Kennedy Center's 2017-2018 season. Today it was announced that the tour will play the Kennedy Center Opera House from mid-June through mid-September 2018, an engagement totaling 14-weeks. Second Stage Theatre's critically acclaimed musical, DEAR EVAN HANSEN, will add one performance on Sunday, May 22 at 8pm to its completely sold out run.  Tickets for this special benefit performance are $500.  All proceeds will fund Second Stage Theatre's educational initiatives, including free student matinees and internships.  The limited run of DEAR EVAN HANSEN will conclude on Sunday, May 29th.
