MusiCares® announced today the establishment of a relief fund to support members of the music community affected by the recent devastation of Hurricane Harvey.

Six-time Grammy winner Glen Campbell Glen Campbell, whose many hits including 'Rhinestone Cowboy,' 'Wichita Lineman' and 'By the Time I Get to Phoenix,' passed away Tuesday, August 7th at the age of 81.

Two-time GRAMMY® winners Fleetwood Mac will be honored at the 2018 MusiCares® Person of the Year tribute on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, it was announced today by Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the MusiCares Foundation® and the Recording Academy.

The Recording Academy will honor its 2017 Special Merit Awards recipients with an awards ceremony and live tribute concert on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

The Recording Academy today announced that it has signed a four-year agreement with AEG for STAPLES Center to host the GRAMMY® telecast when the show returns to Los Angeles in 2019 following its 60th anniversary celebration in New York this coming January.

This year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Shirley Caesar, Ahmad Jamal, Charley Pride, Jimmie Rodgers, Nina Simone, Sly Stone, and the Velvet Underground. Led by GRAMMY®-winning industry icon Paul Shaffer as musical director, the tribute concert will feature rare performances by honorees and never-seen renditions by those they've inspired.

The Recording AcademyTM announced today that producer/engineer/songwriter John Poppo was re-elected Chair of its Board of Trustees and A&R executive Ruby Marchand was re-elected Vice Chair at its annual spring Board of Trustees meeting.

The MusiCares Foundation, an affiliated charity of the Recording Academy with an outstanding four-star rating from Charity Navigator, will honor Adam Clayton, bassist and founding member of U2—recipients of more awards than any rock band in GRAMMY history—at the 13th annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert at the PlayStation Theater in New York on June 26. Clayton will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in recognition of his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund as well as his commitment to helping others with the addiction recovery process. The event, sponsored in part by RBC Capital Markets, will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment.

According to Variety, Chris Cornell's funeral was widely attended by friends and colleagues. Guests include Dave Grohl, Josh Brolin, Brad Pitt, Jeremy Renner, Christian Bale, and band members from Metallica, Jane's Addiction, Eagles, and more. 

The GRAMMY Museum® announced today that 119 talented high school students from 104 U.S. cities and 29 U.S. states have been selected as participants in the 13th annual GRAMMY Camp® program.

CNN reports that the funeral of the recently deceased Chris Cornell will be held in Los Angeles on May 26th. Cornell's body will be flown from Michigan to LA and he will be interred at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell passed away late Wednesday evening, May 17th at the age of 52. Details of his death have not been disclosed

In celebration of the GRAMMY Awards' 60th anniversary, CBS Corporation, in collaboration with The Recording Academy, the Mayor's Office of New York City and Madison Square Garden, announced THE 60TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS will be broadcast live on both coasts from New York City's Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018

The GRAMMY Museum® Grant Program announced today that more than $200,000 in grants will be awarded to 14 recipients in the United States to help facilitate a range of research on a variety of subjects, as well as support a number of archiving and preservation programs.

Legendary musician Chuck Berry has passed away at age 90. According to ABC News, a medical emergency was called in this afternoon in Missouri, and the singer was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
