Grammy Awards to Return to LA's Staples Center in 2019

The Recording Academy today announced that it has signed a four-year agreement with AEG for STAPLES Center to host the GRAMMY® telecast when the show returns to Los Angeles in 2019 following its 60th anniversary celebration in New York this coming January.

The MusiCares Foundation, an affiliated charity of the Recording Academy with an outstanding four-star rating from Charity Navigator, will honor Adam Clayton, bassist and founding member of U2—recipients of more awards than any rock band in GRAMMY history—at the 13th annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert at the PlayStation Theater in New York on June 26. Clayton will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in recognition of his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund as well as his commitment to helping others with the addiction recovery process. The event, sponsored in part by RBC Capital Markets, will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment.

CNN reports that the funeral of the recently deceased Chris Cornell will be held in Los Angeles on May 26th. Cornell's body will be flown from Michigan to LA and he will be interred at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Rock and Roll Superstar Chuck Berry Passes Away Age 90

Legendary musician Chuck Berry has passed away at age 90. According to ABC News, a medical emergency was called in this afternoon in Missouri, and the singer was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
