Disney Theatrical Productions just announced full casting for the eagerly anticipated North American tour of Broadway's Tony® Award-winning smash hit musical, Disney's NEWSIES. Rehearsals began on Wednesday, September 3 in New York City in preparation for the first performance on Saturday, October 11 in Schenectady, NY at Proctors. During its first year of touring in the 2014-15 season, the production will play 25 cities, over 43 weeks.
Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), opens at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, tonight, September 4 and runs through the 14th. The 11-day run marks the launch of the musical's national tour. A hit on Broadway, the highly popular show has created much anticipation for a touring production. Kinky Boots will be the first Broadway show to launch a national tour in Las Vegas, which is a dazzling fit.

The South Bay premiere of Broadway's biggest blockbuster, WICKED, has broken the box office record at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts grossing $1,516,245 during the first week of a three-week engagement. This tops the previous record set by JERSEY BOYS one month prior. The phenomenon made its South Bay premiere on Wednesday, August 27. Performances of WICKED continue through Sunday, September 14. Full casting has been announced for Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning play THE ELEPHANT MAN starring two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper, Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola, directed by Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis. The production begins performances on Friday, November 7, 2014 and opens on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Broadway's Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street, NYC). This is a limited engagement through Sunday, February 15. Tickets are on sale now.
