CBS has announced that on Monday, Dec. 7th,  Jennifer Hudson will appear on LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT for an interview and a performance from the Broadway production of THE COLOR PURPLE.

Casting has been announced for the Detroit engagement of Disney's NEWSIES. The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Detroit Opera House on December 15 for a limited engagement through December 27.

Looks like the Palace will be getting more than a facelift! After yesterday's hearing, the New York City Landmarks Commission has officially approved plans (subject to peer review) to restore the interior and literally lift the Palace Theatre building 29 feet above the ground to make room for four stories of retail space.

The plan would lift the theatre 29 feet above ground level for underground and street level retail space.

On this morning's GMA, THE COLOR PURPLE's Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo took to the stage with a powerful performance of the title song. Later, the actors discuss the stage adaptation of the classsic novel.

?Producer David Stone and the Nederlander Organization announce that the L.A. Premiere engagement of IF/THEN starring Tony Award-winner and Broadway superstar Idina Menzel (Wicked, Rent, Frozen, Glee) will begin performances at Hollywood Pantages Theatre on December 8, 2015 for a limited four-week engagement through January 3, 2016.

It's time to start dancing in the street! BroadwayWorld has just learned that Motown The Musical, the smash hit production featuring the music of the legendary Motown catalogue and a book by Berry Gordy, will return to Broadway for an 18 week limited engagement beginning July 2016 at The Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41 Street).

Disney Theatrical Productions and DPAC announced today that due to popular demand, the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING has been extended by one week. As of today, 21,000 additional seats, including prime locations, are on sale through DPAC.com and Ticketmaster.

Tickets for the new Broadway musical comedy Disaster! are now on sale to the general public at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 877.250.2929. Disaster! begins performances on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 and officially opens on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in a limited engagement at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street) through Sunday, July 3, 2016.
