Be More Chill, the original musical with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis (NBC's 'Smash', The Black Suits, Broadway Bounty Hunter) and a book by Joe Tracz (The Lightning Thief, Netflix's 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events') will have its New York premiere production this summer. Stephen Brackett directs and Chase Brock choreographs the limited 9-week, off-Broadway engagement July 26 - September 23 at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street, NYC).
New Line Theatre Announces Wild Lineup for Upcoming Season

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," announces its 28th season of adult, alternative musical theatre, including the world premiere of THE ZOMBIES OF PENZANCE, Gilbert & Sullivan's newly discovered, original 'operatic abomination,' in its first ever production, running Sept. 27-Oct. 20, 2018; followed by the 'family values' classic musical LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, running Feb. 28-March 23, 2019; and to close the season, the St. Louis premiere of the new sci-fi rock musical BE MORE CHILL, based on the bestselling novel, running May 30-June 22, 2019. All New Line's mainstage shows will be in the company's home, the Marcelle Theater, in the Grand Center Arts District.

Presented for the first time west of the Mississippi, CenterStage Theatre Company's Be More Chill is a zany sci-fi musical with an infectious score and hilarious characters. Based on the book by Ned Vizzini (It's Kind of a Funny Story) and adapted by Joe Iconis (NBC's Smash, The Black Suits) and Joe Tracz (The Lightning Thief, Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events), Be More Chill developed an online cult following after its premiere at New Jersey's Two River Theatre in 2015. CenterStage is one of the first companies in the world to produce this musical that has united a generation of young theatre fans across the globe.

The fandom of BE MORE CHILL culminates this weekend November 9 12 at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ. Catch the show Thursday, November 9th at 7pm, Friday, November 10th at 8pm, Saturday, November 11th at 2pm and 8pm and Sunday, November 12th at 2pm. All performances are held at the Strand Center for the Arts in downtown Lakewood, NJ. Tickets on sale now at www.exit82theatre.com. Ghostlight Records and Two River Theater have released the Original Cast Recording of the new musical BE MORE CHILL in digital formats today, October 30. Check out a special 'Making of the Cast Album' video -- featuring several songs along with exclusive footage of the recording session, the production and interviews with the cast and creative team -- below! The international digital release will be on Friday, November 13; with physical CDs in stores and online Friday, December 18.
